If the GPU viewer is open, performance will indeed bog down as more GPU processing time is allocated to the viewer. If you avoid messing with the viewer (this includes moving your mouse cursor over it) you'll see you're performance numbers ramp up after about 10 seconds as the protein molecule begins moving all herky-jerky.

Speaking of which, this is probably the pace I'll be at for a while. Slow compared to the GPU folders, but stead at 24/7 productivity (I doubt the average cpu loads on 2 DNS, one antivirus, a fileshare, and a virtualcentre will deter from folding@home much )
In Ahielia's case, it looks like he tried to force an upload using a commandline switch. Doing this will indicate a completed WU, but you won't get any points if the WU was actually incomplete.

I'm using the SMP CPU client (occasionally the PS3 client) and I assume you are as well? My assumption is based on the fact that WUs are coming in rather slowly from you, yet they are worth BIG points.

Jeez. Those points are just from the weekend.

One day I'll have a worth-while GPU for this stuff. Yup, one day...

Anyway, as a side note, Team NGEmu has broken in to the top 15,000 as of the last stats update! This puts us well within the top 10%.

Keep up the good work guys!

Force wha... I didn't force anything
Most of the time I leave it on, I got no idea what it does in the meantime.

???

That'll crank out some serious numbers. Looking forward to seeing the performance on it.

In actuality I'm not running the SMP client because theres a disclaimer saying its not stable or some such. I can't afford to kill our lab's infrastructure machines (one which I'm folding on) so I'm just spawning several instances on the machines as services. I'm using the console version as I'm not going to look at the GUI

About the big points, I selected the option for 'big' projects because otherwise for some reason the processes wouldn't be able to find the FAH servers If it rakes in more points, thats all the better

The SMP client is really no different from the standard client. The instabilities refer to the fact that if you shutdown the FAH process while it's processing a multithreaded core, (especially the a1 core) the client will often not resume from the last saved checkpoint. If the machines have battery backup, FAH can be configured to pause the current WU while on battery power until electricity has been restored.

I'll jump in to the competition for top spot in the coming months. Although, by then I'll probably be so far behind that I'll have no chance of ever catching up.

I think you may have to keep your PC on and running 24/7 for a few weeks if you really want to catch Samor.

Well I it's strange: when I launch Folding@Home it says "Downloading new core FahCore_14.exe" then it says F@H Core download error and when I press "Display" it shows

Name: Core is not
Team: running now

And I guess it is linked with core downloading. Help.

What it's displaying is just a generic protein molecule; it's not actually processing anything.

As there is a download error, shut down the GPU client. Go to your FAH folder and delete the 'work' folder and 'queue.dat', after that restart the GPU client. A new WU will be downloaded and hopefully it'll initialize properly.

There is no 'work' folder and 'queue.dat' file.
