Sweet, but I doubt my lowly Q8200 is up for the job. Might be interesting for the i7 users.

Dammit. I finally get a Quad and they are recommending 8+ cores.

AFAIK ATI cards suck at Folding so it might be better to go with the CPU client.

It's all relative, I see you're from Australia, so if you have broadband then download size is a moot point. It's only relevant when on 56k or perhaps when you have an overpriced 128kb ADSL connection.

Well I noticed that with my CPU I can get work units that net me ~1750 points, the problem is it just takes bloody long and I don't trust my CPU enough for that, also my GPU is a lot quieter

lol Is it a good idea to be folding on a laptop (2GHz C2D) using the CPU client when the room temp is already 33C?

Check the temperatures of your CPU and see if it can handle it. Personally I wouldn't use it on a laptop, they aren't meant to be workhorses and cooling is usually already an issue.

Most of my first 100,000 points came from folding on my laptop. Some were from my PS3, but I stopped using it because WUs are generally only worth 250 point a piece and take 6.5 - 7 hours to complete. (less than 1,000 PPD) Couple that with it being a first-gen PS3 (280W) and folding on the PS3 suddenly becomes pointless when my laptop averages 1,260 PPD and uses ~50W.
