Alright dude, thanks for teaming up! I really have to revise the first post after new experiences and all the new members. When I do so I'll put it on the mainpage as well. I hope I'll be able to do it this week and that I can start to work on it tomorrow night

Keep on folding The 4670 from BlueAmethyst is doing so steadily as well.

Eya, welcome! I don't think that should be a problem, just try one of the CPU clients.

@ Skore: Yup, Chrono explained me the procedure, but I first still had to clean up the first post to higher standards

@ Phil: lol, I doubt we'll be able to get in that one. Mostly because these kind of things will only form a barrier for people who have questions about emulators. I certainly would stick with lurking around if I were forced to do such things, just cause I'm stubborn

1 post costs 1 work unit.

That'll keep the noobs at bay!

Yeah, like that's going to help if they're on a 1.6Ghz celeron with intel GMA laptop on which they try to get PCSX2 to run. They'll just end up not handing in their stuff in time or make it crash

Yeah, and the bright side will be no more stupid questions along the lines of:

Can my 486DX/2 run all PS2 and Wii games at fullspeed?

Win-win situation I say!

If you really want to keep the noobs out I think the solution might be in tweaking the sign-up process. After clicking the attached button new potential members would be taken to a page with a bunch of download links to empty zip files named after popular games and a few empty SCPH* binaries. Any attempt to download the empty files would result in a 30-day IP ban (otherwise the ban list would get very long very quickly). Avatars and signature rights would be awarded by either merit or F@H fold counts.

I like entrapment

And yeah... I'm evil.

I got four cores worth of server computer that I can completely lend to folding at times when I'm not using the server on my network. I'll set it up soon, I'll post back here when I have...

It is slow, that's why they give you plenty of time to complete the WU. The SMP client is faster, as it uses multi core processing, but still takes about 24hours to complete a WU with my CPU.

Yeah, I just discovered though that the SMP client only supports 64-bit operating systems...that's a bummer, although on my server I could just run 4 different instances of it on all four cores at the same time to get around that that I guess.

The SMP client supports both 32bit and 64bit OSes. Try the links in my sig. Since your server is a quad core, just use one instance of the SMP client with advanced methods turned on and WU size set to "Big". Oh, and definitely read the readme file.

Not the Linux SMP client...

I see. I guess you'll have to use 4 uniprocessor clients as you proviously stated. Not quite the same points-wise as the SMP client, but should be OK. Our points leader uses 16 uniprocessor clients.
