I have stopped folding for a while cuz I think the client is interfering with the software for my TV card and causing it to crash...so I am just busy testing that theory out.

hm, I only know that if there's software/hardware that are ace at messing up, it has to be tv cards.
Almost always had trouble with em, despite their usefulness.

Well so far my trial period of not folding in order to check if if affected my PVR software's stability has not resulted in a single crash....so it's not looking good for F@H....

That sounds like a good idea....but only if you seriously overestimate their level of PC knowledge.....not to mention many have crappy systems which would fail any deadline and quite possibly melt-down cuz of inadequate cooling...

If you guys noticed, my progress has slowed down quite a bit. Starting to get warmer weather and it's not fun coming back home to a room that's over 30c Started shutting off the rig during the days now.

I stopped for now since I want to get a GTX GPU before going any further. My 8800 takes forever.

I am definitely getting less crashes since I stopped running F@H although unfortunately they seem to have not been eliminated entirely...

4 weeks of folding for me now. Quite a constant output of >4kP per day, average of 6.4kP, expecting to cross the 200'000P on Monday. No issues, no crashes, can't complain.

Hey Schumi, ever checked your PSU? What's the 12V rail reading when in idle, what's it reading under full load?
Better check it with a multimeter than with software.

No I have not checked it like that, I guess I need to sometime. However I am fairly sure it's not that as it's not as if the TV card does not work at all when using F@H just that it crashes more often. If I am at my PC to see the crash and kill the error message instantly then it often relaunches or I can launch the software again myself and it does it's job flawlessly then despite a crash just a minute ago.

How can it be low power if it's just the software crashing and that crash is not permanent? if I just kill the error message everything is A-ok again

That would not explain crashes start happening around the same time as the installation of F@H
