Vista is already a great OS and I don't need a OS that is called like the capitol of Austria at the moment. Will see, what will be in some years. DirectX 12 anyone? ;P

Because of the theme.

I hope this is going to be less of a system hog than Vista, and MS would realize that the mainstream market doesn't use 95% of the stuffs they put in.

meph. It really doesn't look that special. At least they finally realize that bombarding the user with icons and toolbars was a bad idea. Minimalistic people!

minimum specs for it should be like xp, then it would become even popular.
And, yes because of the theme it looks like vista but working would be definitely different.

Not too sure about the faster part. I've seen a demo of this stuff.

Feels like my EeePC running an nLite version of XP. Of course it's fast, but it's comparable to a quad-core running full Vista only.

Calm down people, it's just the third Milestone. I bet my balls that they will restart the project from scratch some time, just like they did with Longhorn.

The pics are looking good though.

On a side note: THEY WILL FINALLY UPDATE PAINT AND THE CALC HAHAHA

Let's hope its not as big an epic fail as Vista is! I'm gonna go from XP SP3 straight to Windows 7. Take that Vista!

The look seems very close to Vista look, but the changes could be more deep. They are for exemple working on faster boot times.
What would be great is that they could remove theses *%µ!:/$$ damn messages about admin rights (Are you an admin? Are you sure you are one? Click on the right left on the screen, then say " I am an admin" to confirm...irritating...).

I didn't install Vista on none of my machines for that. I tried it from friend's PC...After testing, I decided Vista wasn't for me now...

It's gone in SP1 on Vista.

Anyway, Server 2008 was fast enough, so hopefully... this would be at least as fast.

And on a side note, I bet that no matter how fast it boots, it can't beat my EeePC. 13-second boot, anyone?

I personally don't like vista, but given the fact that so many people have put so much effort behind it, I appreciate it more. If they come up with dx11 then what will happen to the current gen graphics cards?
