Hmm does that mean no picture viewer either? I always liked Windows XP's Picture and Fax Viewer...obviously I could install something...but it's convenient to be able to view pictures out of the box...

Same thing used to happen with the PC in my computer lab at school in grade 8. That's why we switched to Revelation Sight and Sound which worked like a charm. And another problem with it was that sometimes, the movies which you render weren't playable on another PC, just yours. So I had my fair share of bugs with it regardless of whether anyone else did.

And even if you do have a problem, then read what I said previously:

Like I said before, there should be an option in installation so that the user can choose whether or not he/she wants to install a certain built-in application, and since half the n00bs using PCs get someone to install a simple OS for them (frustrates the heck out of me to hear this!), MS won't need to worry about people missing out on these apps accidentally.

I am fairly sure it's called Windows Picture and Fax viewer on XP...but yes it does have somewhat crappy gif handling...still it's convenient.

Because I don't get paid by the call (thank god) and I'm busy enough as it is without MS making my job harder. Besides, I would just be the symptom of the problem. The problem being that all these people who expect email capability on a new OS aren't getting it nor do they know where to find it. Bad mojo.

Asus EeePc 901 mini notebook

1.6Ghz Atom
1gb ram
30gb harddrive

Smooth performance with an integrated video card only need 1gb of ram to run smoothly for basic computing. It's not meant for heavy application like gaming, etc.

Drivers and compatibility most has been fixed in SP1 and eventually will get better in time. As a matter of fact, modern pc games now runs faster in vista than xp sp3.

So is this the vista that everyone talk crap about it performance and memory hogger or compatibility? I feel sorry for noobs that don't know ****

No, noob if you were to play pc game you would need a desktop or a high end notebook with recent hardwares, especially if that game is crysis. Also, watch the video noob b4 you reply and have some common sense because you didn't seem to understand the purpose of my post

Btw, today's standard for most pc or even some notebook is 2gb of ram don't you know?

Actually I think xp sp3 is the better OS for gaming. Vista needs 2gb ram atleast for gaming, and xp sp3 is awesome for gaming with 2gb ram.

My XP SP3 install runs much much much faster than that even though the CPU is almost twice as slow (450MHz Celeron M versus 800MHz atom). Well, maybe not that much slower since Atom itself is quite slow already, but I assure you, XP SP3 runs much smoother than that.

A good bunch. Crysis, Oblivion, CoD4, etc. That all i can remember but i don't remember if it was 32 bit or 64 bit version of vista and i believe amd/ati cards were the ones that gains speed boost in 8.8 or 8.9 Catalyst driver.

As a matter of facts most pc games in xp are now on par in vista, if not faster. Vista has the potential to outperform Xp which is a given to those who really know what windows vista is capable of.

Crysis????? You have got to be kidding me! How on earth can I run Crysis better with my existing RAM then I can on XP. And there is probably a reason as to why games only recommend 2GB RAM on XP while they recommend 3GB on Vista. Minimum requirements for example are at times, 1GB on XP, 1.5GB on Vista or 512MB for XP, 768MB for Vista. At times, games even recommend a 200MHz stronger dual-core if you're running Vista, so there's definitely something to it.
