sound choppy

whenever i use itunes, the music slows down an then speeds back up like every 20 seconds and also gets choppy.The computer is only 3 months old. It is running windows vista ultimate 32 bit. I also had this problem in xp when i had that installed also. I also noticed that when im watchin vids on the net, the sound in them sometimes go's slower then the video is playing, i think this problem is also causing that. I checked temps, there only at 44c.

You should download and install the following programs, they are free and effective in removing clutter from Windows Systems.
1. Clam Anti virus
2. avast! anti virus
3. Spy Bot Search & Destroy + update
4. Windows update

Install updated versions of the 4 listed and run full scans. Do not worry about having 2 anti viruses installed, they'll work simultaneously. Uninstall one of them when your system is a bit stabler.

You might want to search google for these things and while your at it search for "+spyware +remove +free +windows" and read up, there are tons of options you will find available that help in recooping a good fast but currently slow system.

Never ever ever run more than one antivirus program. EVER. God, your system must be crying. AV programs are almost worse than viruses themselves.

azul, what sound card are you running? If you're not sure post your motherboard or your system if it's a pre-build. What are you running for speakers? I've seen a lot of similar problems with Vista since they removed HAL for direct 3d audio.

use the dxdiag utility and see if it detects anything out of the ordinary under the "sound" and "music" tabs. posting the text file it creates might give us a better idea of what we are looking at here. regarding your net video sound issue, is it like stuttering/choppy and out of sync or is it out of sync?
