Yes, it has a firewall included in the Internet Security Package.

After 30 days trial then what's happening ? I know where to get for a full version, hehe. However, I just want to know what's happening when 30 days trial is over ?

Not sure, boxed versions do not really expire ;p
I suppose the realtime protection just expires...

It says that it has expired for you and requests you to buy the full version or enter a key. If you don't do either, you're basically just wasting system resources.

Not true at all, An expired key simply means you can no longer download updates, the software still works.

I might get that after the Macfee that came with my comp expires.
I only like Macfee's firewall, it is the only part that is satisfactory...

does expired mean blocked in your book? I was under the impression updates were locked for blocked keys.

Well, I had it (the trial) and when the trial version finished it just locked up. Had to install a new key, then it was fine.

Maybe my trial key got blacklisted? :S

you can no longer update after it expires, which sucks for antivirus programs :/

I've been an Avast user for a few months now, and that's all I have. I use the windows firewall...um, that's about it

Maybe I've just been lucky so far, so I'll probably look into Kapersky when I build a new system.

Honestly, if you don't browse porn sites or warez sites or click on pop ups, you have almost zero percent chance of catching a threat XD

90% of threats can be blocked with a adblocking host file.

Bad sites: if you don't go to them, they come at you ;p
Best get as best protection as you can, or you'll have to give up online purchasing and stuff due to worryingly unsafe workstations. Well, you could still do it of course, just keep in mind you'll have much more chances to get yourself 0wned

You're not only vulnerable to viruses via a browser. Don't forget MSN/WLM (lately there have been alot circulating) and Emails. Decent protection is a must.

AVG pissed me off because it had quite a few false positives and bogged down the system while I was doing random things. In terms of free antivirus I always preferred Avast!.

It's strange how I seem to get way more false positives on Avast than on AVG....heck Avast yesterday randomly killed off PCtools Threatfire...which it has never done before in a month of having it...

I use Kaspersky Internet Security as well, I don't think there is a better security package out there.

When I do have to use just an anti-virus program though, I install my copy of Symantec Anti-Virus Corporate, which while from the same company as Norton is a far better anti-virus program.
