Can you proxy any application that accesses the web?

I need to proxy a P2P application "Ares" for adult purposes with an http proxy since my internet isn't working good unless I use my ISP's much faster alternative http proxy.

Only problem is "Ares" only allows you to use a Sock's proxy either Sock's 4 or 5, but not http.

I need to be able to use a http proxy since my satellite ISP is having trouble with their default turbo page proxy.

Thanks if anyone can help, I hope I am allowed to ask this and am not breaking any rules.

Hmm...this is going to be very vague...I am afraid I have no clue what I am talking about....but it might help none the less...can't you check in your Control Panel and set a universal proxy for your entire connection?

It would be under Internet Options or Network connections or something like that...

Freecap?

FreeCap Homepage - Download!

|*M*|: it is highly discouraged to use the Tor network for P2P traffic. The Tor network was intended to provide annonymous web browsing and to bypass "great firewalls" in some countries...not to clog up the servers with illegal downloads

Ares doesn't use HTTP, so it won't allow you to use a HTTP proxy, only an universal (SOCKS) proxy.

Who said anything about illegal downloads.

I use ares for pron, at least pron that can be legally downloaded and isn't subject to copyright.

Although I still get the general idea about not clogging up the tor network.

I believe you can route traffic of applications you can't proxy through an external application, and I was trying to find what application would help me achieve that.
