Recording question

Hey,
I'm wondering if there's a possible way to record my playthrough on my PS2 to my laptop, or to a DVD player. Or do I have to use an emulator? 'Cause my Emu is way to slow on my computer.

just use the emulater. when you play it, the playback will be automatically played at full speed.

if you were to record it from your original PS2, you'd need a TV capture card for your laptop (or something similar) in order to capture the video.

or you can just use a digital camera

...or a recording DVD-device (a living room model).

Or maybe a VHS cassette recorder!

Good old days... When I didn't had my current equipment, I once captured my desktop actions and gaming to VHS and my friend watched that video.

As cottonvibes suggested, get a TV tuner card for your laptop - but make sure it has component or s-video connector. Most PC hardware stores will have them.

But I already have an S-video recorder installed on my computer, will that have anything to do with this?

Ok, so you have the hardware and the software you need. Now, connect Scart to the TV, where you take the video and on the Scart block (if your device supports Scart (Scarts are going to museum, too. )), make sure it outputs the video (check that button). Now, launch your capture software and start playing games. Remember that highest AVI-quality takes a horrible amount of your HD space, so think how good quality you want.

If you have any other questions, go ahead.

What's the difference between component,s-video and RCA? Is the quality from a TV tuner card good? I've seen videos come out slightly blurred, and I wonder if it's just the poor quality of the card...

It'll be both the card, and the connection used that affect the quality. There's a good site here that compares the different connectors: s-video vs. composite video vs. component video

Apparently, component is best, followed by S-Video.

This is the resolution my computer was comfortable with, you might be able to get a bigger one out of it. Hopefully this download works (as I've never used this site), and you have the codecs necessary to view it.

Pretty sure PS2 doesn't have either of those options.

It's not working for me. It just keeps asking me to wait for 20 seconds before I can click download, and then the counter restarts...can you send it to my email at yurecia@gmail.com? And...try uploading to yousendit.com? Alternatively, you can just upload a screenshot of the biggest res your TV card can capture at=DD Thank you so much=]
