Well like 80%+ of PC users use Windows...that's why it's targeted the most....if positions were reversed it would be the same for Mac or Linux...and that's why we need AV software....

Also it's great to see another Avant user on here

Heh, someone else who knows about PhotoImpact. That program is what I used to learn about graphic design. Not a bad one at all. In fact, it's better than Photoshop in some areas imo.

High five!
That's when I first heard of graphic design too
I love the special layer effects and text effects it offers

Lol. PhotoImpact is a great program but I eventually had to learn Photoshop because you can't really get a job in the graphic design business without knowing Photoshop (trust me, I tried). There were a lot of good effects and tools in PhotoImpact. Bevel effects in PhotoImpact didn't look like **** like how Photoshop's bevels look.

I first got it with my first scanner when I was about 12 years old and I used the basic version for a certain amount of years to make fake IDs and report cards for myself so I wouldn't get in trouble until I bought the full version (it was well worth the money for me back then). It tought me a lot, plus PhotoImpact's help is way better than Photoshop's help feature. Photoshop's is a mess and so hard to learn Photoshop if you are new to it. If it wasn't for PI's nice help feature, I wouldn't have learned anything about graphics.

I think I started using PO when I was in fifth or sixth grade when I join a Photo Impact Club at my elementary school XD
We made posters and stuff for the graduating class

Cool.

Maybe I'll try PhotoImpact.

I've always been interested in graphics designing!

I still don't get the people who can't live without antivirus.
I have never needed it, been totally free from just about anything for about a year now with my custom-windows, router and common sense

Firewall = overkill, yes

However I actually need to run mine to get one of my programs to work XD...without this paticular firewall...and one or 2 others (which are crappy) it refuses to run, crashes on some DLL error on startup. It's quite strange...apparently the Firewall somehow maintains the global hook which is otherwise changed by ATI Tray Tools....which the program needs to run propperly.

Viruses are no longer quite the threat they were, but they are still around...so it's stupid not to have one, especially if some of them are free and still fairly decent.
My old P3 got hit by bugbear twice....and it was not anything that I had done or any place that I had visited (at least not intentionly)....so I would prefer not get hit by that nasty thing again or any of it's brethren so I run AV software.
