Ive tried that V5503 here.
Didnt noticed any difference from V3300.

But one thing i noticed, you dont need to install WindowsXP-KB896256-v4-x86-ENU.
That was a hotfix for AMD dual-core processors. But you still need AMD Dual-Core Optimizer. And probably the registry and boot.ini tweak.

the optimiser is a double edged sword, it fixes some games, while breaking others.

That's great news about XP SP3, can't wait until it goes RTM.

I heard from somewhere there won't be a SP3 for the 64-bit edition of Windows XP, can anyone confirm this or link me to a reputable source that claims this?

Ok then, well that explains it. I didn't realize XP64 had the updates already implemented that XP 32-bit is going to get with SP3.

it popped in my autoWU yesterday, only 70 megs.
Just mount the ISO into a virtual drive (or open it in Isobuster) and you'll have your EXE ;p

I don't see what advantages this service pack is going to bring to the average user, since the only new features being added is some security stuff back-ported from Vista.

This is only really a collection of previous updates, so if you've kept your PC up to date from Windows Update, then the only thing it adds is a nice new mention of Service Pack 3 on the System Properties screen.

AutoPatcher is a much sweeter deal actually, but some might appreciate the extra features not available as separate packages

Supposedly 10% faster than SP2. Might be worth it, but I'll wait another month till all the kinks are worked out.
