PCSX2 Help
Ok, first off I want to get strait that I am, essentially, a technophobe. I do not understand many things to do with computers, (laptop for me) and they confuse me. But I do play a lot of games, and love them to bits. So please may someone give me an easy step-by-step tutorial on the installation, use and play of PCSX2? I have downloaded and installed it, obtained the correct Bios files and the plugins which come with it, which I assume are good (keyword assmue) Umm, I have Final Fantasy X-2 and have been trying to run it. So what I have been doing is shoving it in the drive, then going on load cd/dvd and I click on the final Fantasy X-2 cd. It goes to the PS2 basic screen and no further. Also it is very slow. This may be due to my Laptop but I think it is ok, and pretty good, although that may be because I am used to Computers are terrible, but then again it seems ok, and very quick. It runs at about 4-5 fps with the little orby bits (told you I am technical) and then afterward goes to 10-20, with rather large fluctuation. So yea, please a bit of help with this would be nice, if you need my PC specs I can give them if needed. Right, lots of writing, hope you read it and please help, thanks muchly |

Why wouldn't you just post your PC specs in your first post? That'd save us alot of time, you too. Also, what do you mean Obtained the correct Bios files? Oh well... Follow the guide in my signature to get the emulator set up tip top. It gives easy instructions on how to do it properly.

don't spam another forum just because the people in the forum you were supposed to post in decided to ignore you. i bet i can guess why. just because the internet is anonymous doesn't mean there's not an etiquette. besides, it's soul blade. unlock the characters by playing it like everyone else. it's not like it's a hard game. also, to blaize12, if you're getting that low fps on first boot, chances are your computer doesn't have enough juice to run the program. since you're a self proclaimed technophobe, i'm guessing it's an out-of-the-box deal and that you haven't built into it at all. unfortunately, unless you bought it within the last few years and paid for the extra hardware (which you probably didn't bother with, as being a technophobe doesn't require it, lol), then more than likely you're just plain out of luck, unfortunately. though most importantly, judging from your post, and as dumping your own bios is quite technical, you probably didn't. which is piracy, and it's only a matter of time before a mod locks this post, because if the site allowed support for piracy, lawyers would be all over it, and developing the emulators and all would be nearly impossible without an organized group of individuals to test and report back on it. best bet, EB Games and gamestop sells used ps2's for quite cheap, i got a fat for 40 bucks, and a slimline for 60. used games are dirt cheap. then you can trade them in towards new ones, which seems to be your best option right now. you can mod consoles to play LEGAL backups of GAMES YOU OWN, but the process it even more technical than pcsx2.
