Post ePSXe: status update

Since version 1.6.0 (no less than 4 years), not much was heard about the current status of this great Playstation emulator. The ePSXe team just published an update recently, confirming that the project is NOT dead.

"It has been long time since the previous ePSXe status update. During this
time
the ePSXe development has been on hold and our lives have changed a lot,
probably just like yours. In summer 2007 we decided to continue working in
ePSXe
encouraged by the users support even after 4 years without updates. ePSXe
is currently in final testing and we hope to release a new version very
soon. We wanted
to thank you
for your support and show you some screenshots from games that should work
better
in the next release."

The ePSXe team

Stay tuned for more updates. And check ePSXe's website.

It would be, but a changelog would by definition be incomplete until the release code is finalised.

Still it's good to know there's another release coming especially as I spy a Vib Ribbon screenshot in there.

Yikes. Ngemu is really behind on the news. This was actually posted on other emu news sites a good week ago. Ah well.

I hate to say though, but no more information anywhere else than what you see here (what a shame as I'd love to know how progress is going. I wonder if the FFIX FMV bug was squashed so everyone can finally drop ESPXE 1.5.2 for good)

Yeah, this is all I'm hoping for: to be able to drop all the old versions and only use 1 version, instead of having to use 3 diffreent versions depending on what game I want to play, like it is now.

I have to have a 1.6.0 and a 1.5.2 and a 1.4.0 all at the same time.

I really hope they continue releasing GNU/Linux versions, and make it the same quality as the Windows version. Or better yet, finally release the source code. Or maybe they have some kind of virus that would be found if the code went public..

To be fair though it's been in ngemu's Emulation News Submissions forum for over a week now. Still it's suprising it's taken this long to make it onto the homepage.
