Angry There are no CDVD plugins that work!!!

I have tried 8 different CDVD plugins, NONE of them will let the emu launch!!
Only the null driver will let the program launch, but it cant read the disk (browser menu shows 2 cards... no disk) I have tried A couple of games, same results.

Is anyone able to help resolve the issue, or explain how to rip to hardrive with ISO and find a way around the problem?

Im starting to think this emu is more trouble than its worth... Going to give up on it alltogether if I cant make some progress soon.

Help Me!

did you even followed the guide?
all CDVD plugins are working wich comes with 0.9.2 and 0.9.4, but not older ones.
you can use nero or isobuster to create isos of your PS2 games.

i mount isos with daemon tools and use peops CDVD to run the game, works fine here.

Use the peops cd/dvd plugin that comes with the pcsx2 o.9.4 and configure the drive letter you are using.

Well friend, first things first, calm down. The emulator is still in progress and far from being perfect. Still what you're reporting seems very strange. I don't have much experience myself about that, but maybe you could post a screenshot of your cddvd plugin configuration so that someone else can help.

That, or simply rip the games to your hard disk and use them there.

At any rate, give us a little more information and we'll see if we can help. (Knowing your pc specs would also help...)

Ive reinstalled the emu, changed absolutely nothing, and now peops will finally allow the program to launch and read the disk. Now I have so many grafix and sound issues that the game is unplayable. Guess Ill have to filter through every plug in till I find ones that work.

I Guess I shouldnt pack away my console just yet.

Really, a 3 GHz dual core is still going to have trouble running this emu? Didnt think my CPU would be a problem, figured the RAM would be.

yeah PCSX2 focussed on last version on improving emulation, if they try to improve speed many things may break and it's not worth it, maybe later it'll take a lower machine to run perfectly but right now it's the way it is :x

and about RAM it's actually not so demanding, 1GB is plenty for it :P

Hello nebraskan, try using peops, setting it like this: (of course your drive letter is going to be different and you'll have to set it to the appropriate letter (likely d or e)

If these settings don't work try setting your caching to Smooth Read

Just remember that when using a ps2 dvd in your computers dvd-drive and starting pcsx2 you have to go FILE >>> RUN CD/DVD >>> Then wait 30 seconds to 1.5minutes for the dvd to load up.

This wait is almost none existant when running off of an ISO.

This might help you understand why ps2 emulation requires so much. A little old, but still valid...

it's a pentium d

a 3ghz core 2 would run fine,
...alas the megahertz myth. The Ghz level of a processor does not equate to speed, it's just a contributory factor
