Why do my games run so slow?

Hi i just got my pcsx2 up and running and all the bios stuff is figured out and now the issue im having is game speed

my comp specs:
AMD Athlon 64 3800+
2.40 GHz
3 gigs of RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GS
(running on Xp sp.2)

The game im playing is .Hack//G.U

(kinda a noob at this stuff really...)

1 - Your CPU is a single core, a dual core is recommended
2 - the .hack games are still quite a bit buggy, so having speed issues shouldn't be surprising

bah....damn u processor.....o well...can u perhaps recommend a good budget dual core?

i have a dual core processor and i still experice a terrible frame rate of around 20/30?
does anyone know what i can do so i can run ps2 games fine. i have tried GTA san andreas and Deser storm two. thanks

If you don't want to replace your current motherboard...which is socket 939 I believe. The Opteron 156 is the best you can get for type 939.
