Would it work(decently enough, that is)?

You must be tired of this kinds of threads, but I simply have to ask. My specs are in my sig, before you ask(if more info is needed, simply ask, although I doubt that will be necessary).

I've been wondering, seeing as all these games are rated "playable" in the compatibility list, how well would each work(FPS and such), and which version of the emulator, plugins and what not should I use for each.

The games I want to play are Final Fantasy X(and X-2, as much as I've heard it sucks), Kingdom Hearts, God Hand, and Devil May Cry 2(seeing as DMC1 isn't playable just yet).

Thanks for your time.

DMC 1 is playable with the new beta. I'm guessing you should get good speeds, not the greatest but definetley playable. Though someone more experienced in PCs might want to confirm or deny this, just to be safe.

Thanks for the comment, either way. That's nice to hear. And playable would be DMC3:SE PC playable(stupid game played at a max of 30 FPS)?

Well compare with my system
Intel Duo @1.5Ghz(pure suckage)
Nvidia 8600GT
2Gb ram

In this I get about 45 fps in FFX and 30 FPS in DMC(1200x1200 res. mind you, in native it goes a bit faster).

CPU-wise, maybe. But the 8600GT is VASTLY better than the 7600 GS. And I'm sure that extra GB or RAM helps.

Maybe, but PCSX2 relies more on CPU I think, and I think the GSdx plugin relies more on CPU as well, whereas Zerogs run on GPU, unless I reversed the 2.

Matis: As of the latest svn (beta) versions DMC2 works almost perfect in pcsx2. Yes theres some occasional lag, but we`re talking a drop from 60 to 40 fps in most cases. Other than that its one of the few games that runs pretty much perfect in the emulator so far.

FFX runs pretty much on a similar level also from what I`ve played of it. Which doesn`t surprise me at all really, considering how many posts used to be on the forums here asking "please make ffx work k thx bye" and usually in worser english than the example I gave .

Well, the FFX part I knew. That about DMC2 actually be one of the games that plays best...Complete news to me. Did it have to be the crappiest one on the series, though? -_-

Oh well, still, it's a damn good job on the developer's part(even more so if what the compatibility list says is true, and almost 800 games are playable!). If anyone can give me advice on plugins to use and what not, I'd appreciate it(though, from the looks of it, if GSdx is the CPU reliant one, it seems to be my best option).

Oh, and what about these patches? Any one for the games I listed(that makes them work better, that is)?

*expects 1000 comments on FFX patches*

Matis : Sad to say though, I had a similar system to yours, and sadly, don't expect full speed. Unless you're using frame skipping.

Overclock that processor and you'll go nearer to 70 to 80% full speed.

I really never overclocked my processor(and I've yet to get ahold of any of the games, as they are my friend's and not mine). Any advice?

Oh, and take into account that it's summer here, 30-35 ºC being normal most days. I can't overclock too much, or I'd have overheating problems.

I've yet to overclock either my video card or processor, however, I finally managed to get ahold of my friend's DMC2.

Using the latest SVN, I get almost perfect speed with GSdx 0.1.7(SSE2 version. PCSX2 says my processor supports SSSE3, but when I try to use the SSSE3 version, the emulator crashes) and P.E.Op.S SPU2 1.6.0 when using VU skip, though after a certain amount of frames, the screen turns back, then goes back to showing the game, a process that cycles infinitely. Normal frameskip isn't enough, and I'm running on Native resolution, with fullscreen 800x600.

I'm almost positively sure there's no way to get rid of the flickering, as the description for the VU Skip says as much. However, can I, at least, play on a bigger windowed mode than 320x200? Oh, and ZeroGS seems to give me even worse speeds, just in case.
Lastly, is there any patch/hack to speed up the game, much like the FFX hack in ZeroGS?

I had heard that AMD X2 wasn't capable, but PCSX2, for some reason says so(the original comment was aimed more at WHY it says so, when it can't, and not asking why the SSSE3 version of the plugin didn't work).

Either way, can anyone answer what was asked in the last paragraph of my last post?

EDIT: Forget the PS 3.0 thing. It was my mistake.

no Athlon64 is SSE3 capable not SSSE3 capable (notice the extra S), my c2d is SSSE3 capable but isnt even detected in PCSX2 it just detects SSE3

Oh. So PCSX2 probably said one of the features was SSE3, and not SSSE3.

Either way, you're answering no question of mine.

I wouldn't normally mind, but it's something I myself had stated prior to your post. And John Aiton had said the same thing before I did so myself.
