Exclamation gsdx9 vs zerogs

Hi guys,
sorry if this already has been answered many times.
There are some new versions of gsdx9 out.
Is gsdx9 now better than zerogs ones?
For example in speed.
I now played Tekken 4 with it.
The problem: I don't have my C2D E6850 anymore...
I now have a very weak cpu (Intel Pentium E2140@1,6 GHZ.
I'm getting my new cpu (E8400 ) this month!

I only use gsdx these days. It runs more games with less glitches or crashes for me. So for now atleast its the only one I`ll use.

The GSdx is CPU demanding, and Zero GS tends to use effictively your graphic card, as far as I know. GSdx is super-compatible, and Zero GS has a lot of options, letting you to make it compatible, if by default it is not. Zero GS is a fabulous plugin, but still I first try the all powerful super-speed-work-in-progress, Gabest's GSdx. And I use dx10 version, which is far more faster than the dx9 for me.
In any case, your question is silly! lol Just try them and find out by yourself. It's fast, easy and answers your question better than anyone could.

gsdx9 is no more!

GSdx is better if you want to play with quality, ZeroGS is better if you want speed, is just as simple as that :P

At least in my case zerogs is about 50% faster(50 vs 35 fps) in the most critical areas of all the games I have tried.

GSdx10

I use GSdx10 for Windows Vista, and it is 15%-20% faster than ZeroGS. Anyway, it produces some graphic glitches in FFX where ZeroGS image is perfect.

A ZeroGS for Dx10 version with the FMV+AA combination fixed would be great.

Greetings

Well yes sure it would be great. So why don't you get to work and code it? You surely can do that easily, right?

At any rate, back to the main topic, the difference between zerogs and gsdx lies in how powerful your CPU and GPU are. Zerogs is more GPU-intensive, Gsdx is CPU intensive. If, like in my case, you have a strong cpu and an average gpu, gsdx will ALWAYS give better results...

But it depends on your pc, so you can only find out by trying it yourself.

Well I guess what Krakatos said is only for the Dual-Core people then.

I (still) have a Pentium 4, 3.0 Ghz Processor and a 8600GT GPU
Weak CPU / stronger GPU

And Gsdx gives me about 7-10 more fps to my games than ZeroGS

My guess is its just different on every single system

In what part of my post I said it would be easy?
In what part of my post I asked for someone to code it?

I think that this kind of ironic and offensive comments are not neccesary.

Regardless, I'm pretty sure the team has no intention of putting in DX10 into their plug in. Plus, the majority of users here still run on XP and probably won't be running Vista 64bit for awhile.

Here's an interesting thread that I've bookmarked awhile back. It's got a nice conversation going between multi-core and DX10 use.

ZeroGS is the most compatible video plugin yet, while Gsdx has the best performance and highest fps.

not really, in ZeroGS u can activate many of the options and it'll be a lot lot faster than GSdx, then again it wont look pretty :P

also u can activate frameskipping or VUskip and still faster on ZeroGS while GSdx doesnt support those, GSdx is better I agree but is better when quality over performance is what you want (ofc it might fix problems on some games making em faster), many people here use ZeroGS cauze it can achieve constant higher framerates no matter how it looks (no AA/Bilinear seems pointless to me but then again I like sharpness on my games :P)

I won't change my cpu cooler, because it is good
Scythe EU GmbH : Ninja CU
(I even use a Noctua fan which runs at 1200.)
I cannot overclock this cpu, because it is not my cpu.
A friend borrowed it. I'll get my E8400 this month.
Then I will overclock it to 3,6 ghz (I hope^^).

Yes, if I could, I would...
An E2140 is not very good for trying...

OK, seems right to me.
I'll try it this month.
btw: Which cpu cooler do you have? An X2 @ 4 ghz is realllllly good!

@all:
My gpu supports dx10, but I only have xp pro sp2.
That means that I only can use the dx9 version, right?

For me, it depends on the game. I've noticed that a few games run better on ZeroGS the GSdx (Although I do have a few options turned on in ZeroGS), but I'd just say try each game with each plugin. Mess around with it.
