Arrow Free Microsoft Product! No joke.

If you willing to give away your privacy and do a survey once every 2 weeks then you're in! As promised you're free to choose the following products, only one of course Last, but not least, you'd have to live in the United State to qualify or to participate in the offering.

* Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate (32-bit and 64-bit DVD)
* Microsoft Office Ultimate 2007
* Microsoft Money Plus Premium
* Microsoft Student with Encarta Premium 2008
* Microsoft Streets and Trips 2008

Does the software impact the performance of my computer?

We have gone to great lengths to design the Windows Feedback Program software to limit the amount of computer resources it uses to collect data. You may see a minor change in performance when you first log in to Windows; however, this typically only occurs during the first few minutes after login while we are collecting basic configuration information.

What types of information will you collect and why?
We are looking for information that will help us understand problems you encounter with Windows, how you have configured your computer and Windows, what hardware you are using, and general information about how you are using Windows and Microsoft Office products on your computer. You can see a list of examples of the data we collect in our FAQs.

How often will Microsoft collect data?

How often you will share data depends on how actively you use your computer and how often your computer is connected to the internet. In general, the data is shared once per day.

For more information go here About the Windows Feedback Program and this offer will expires on 12/31/07, while supplies last, and is not redeemable for cash. Taxes, if any, are your sole responsibility.

Another one of Microsoft's schemes to make people go to Vista... (and get more bugs! ZOMG) Obviously, you would not need Office 2007 for any reason at all... if you already have Office 2003. Money Plus is only useful for businessmen... and they wouldn't have the time for these stuffs. Student sounds cool... but I never used it, have you? Streets and Trips... I'm going to do more research on that one before I jump to any conclusion.

P.S.: And this is just like mass-hacking... we are letting them monitor our every single activities (with our own CONSENT) every day for the next... god knows how long.

Anybody remembers what they say about "free cigarets" ?
Think they "collect" your games+softs' serial numbers as well, plus list of "security holes still not closed yet, and still exploitable by anyone with no conscience " ?

PS: forcefully sending fake data sounds nicer, after all, collection and analizys should be fully automated processes

Actually, I really like Office 2007 over 2003, I definitely hate having to work at uni with these Office 2003 / IE6 machines, productivity goes down 200%.

It's a nice scheme though, but usually the people too cheap to cough up the money are also the ones who'd rather not give their privacy away to big corporations for obvious reasons. So they get a free Vista copy, the other day they'll get the message they should buy their Office license

This is a great move and at the right time, too.
Now people willing to try Gabest's DirectX10 plugin for PCSX2 can get the
required OS for relatively free
Just this tiny bit about US-citizens only. Well, that means basically the whole world
is excluded.

1 - send fake data, regardless of how its done

OR

2 - dont use the comp with Feedback with the internet, or connect it through a firewall linux, with strict packet filtering/discarding

OR

3 - ????

I don't care, as long as it works. The more power to me if I can get a hold of a legitimate copy of Vista 32-bit or 64-bit at no cost for when I build my new PC next year sometime.

Any info on what you need to do to redeem the offers? I have no problem participating in this.

Info on how to redeem the offers would be nice though as it doesn't explain or throughly explain this.

Just don't do anything illegitimate until it's over and you redeem the offer, uninstall it, do a through scan to ensure no tidbits or "Spyware" are left over and enjoy your free legit copy of vista.

This appears to be legit though as it is through Microsoft it appears. Seems they are using http://deploy.ztelligence.com to conduct the surveys.

But how do we redeem the offers though? I see nothing stating how to do this on Microsoft's website itself or even stating about any offers if you take part in this.

That's weird because I wasn't asked to provide my address when I signed up for it.

Do they ask for your address, what offer you want etc.... after the feedback program ends?

Has anyone ever got anything through things like this?

Here's an in depth Privacy Statement from Microsoft for those who're curious. Privacy Statement As far as i can tell they won't be collecting private informations such as your pRoNz collection, etc.

Actually, anyone planning to get a stable, fully working, less crashes/hang-ups/incompatibilities/issues/whatever-that-annoy-you, or something familiar and easy to use should just get XP instead... I mean... almost anyone who knows how to install an OS like Vista would know that it's a total mess, and not very friendly regardless of the knowledge of the user. (I've had enough of Vista driver bugs... thank you very much)

*points to what I said above* This is really NOT any better than a pirated version of XP that you can make into a genuine one. Of course, if an OS is good enough, you should just cough up the bucks for it. You had the money to build a rig capable of Vista (yeah, I mean... CAPABLE OF VISTA), why not spend just a few more for the OS?

Point taken, but I would rather find a way to save a bit of money after building my new rig next year and a copy of Vista Ultimate is not cheap to come by (About $300) from what I've heard. As usual Microsoft OS's and Software never really go down in price around where I live. A copy of XP was nearly the same price as when it came out until about the time Vista launched.

Also my net connection doesn't warrant plundering off the plank, diving into the seven seas of one eyed Willy to obtain a copy of Vista by dishonest means. By all means I would rather get it as legitimately and cheaply as possible.

A copy of XP home edition if I go to bowlmart (Walmart) still runs at $99 before tax.

However does anyone have any info on how and when you can redeem these offers for your participation? The Signup Form/Survey never asked for my Address or Name which are usually required to ship to you.
