Game just don't start up.
I've inserted my original copy of Ratchet & Clank in my DVD drive in my laptop...in PCSX2 i go to file>run cd/dvd and i choose the img file on the R&C DVD...it loads, i get the PS2 loading screen and then i see the main menu of the PS2...but the game doesn't start at all. What's wrong? In browser i see two memory cards but nothing to start the game. On my PS2 it automatically loads the game...but nothing happens in the emulator. |

Works now...by using this (frrom another thread) Go to Config -> Configure. For Cdvdrom choose the P.E.Op.S CDVD plugin and click configure. For interface select W2K/XP and then select your DVD drive. Now back out of all of the config menus and click File -> Run CD/DVD and that should do it I was using the first DVD plugin...when i chose this..it worked..however..it started up SPhinx, but now it says, patches not found, cant apply patches. Games work now, but it's incredibly slow, like 5fps...unplayable. Last edited by Moonwalker1982; December 6th, 2007 at 23:59.. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

when it says patches not found, means there were no patches for that game to be applied, and whats your system specs, that would help to know why your getting low fps.

you go into config , cpu. there should be a check box to select it. you will probably have to select the multi tread gs mode aswell. also spec's on your pc videocard and ram and what type of core two duo you have might be nice.if you don't know you can right click the desktop and click properties and then click the settings tab it should tell you there. as for cpu and ram you can right click my computer and click properties it should tell you there.

Well, there's your problem . It's a laptop, so don't expect to be getting great performance with that. You may have a C2D, but the recommended range is around 3Ghz. Also, what's your GPU in your laptop? PCSX2 is heavily CPU oriented, but you still need a decent GPU as well.

Yeah, you shouldn't use a laptop for PS2 gaming for a few years. (Unless the authors of the emulator come up with a brilliant idea to magically raise the speed and compatibility of the emulator with the PS2 games) Oh and, you could try making an iso of your game on your computer, and then running it with that plugin. It should save you the noise from the CD-Rom or whatever you're using, and it could bring you a few FPS, not a lot, 2-3, but it will. |
