Going to get a new pc: Is it fast enough?

Hello
Well, i am going to buy a new pc in next few days, i know which pc i want and i am not going to change my mind^^. The problem is: This pc is for me as a christmaspresend(may i call it like this? i dont know i am from germany). I pay a half and my parents the other(this is why i am going to buy it on my own, because to get the right pc).

This are the datas of it:

- Core 2 Duo E6750 2x2.67Ghz
- 2048MB DDR2 ram
- 500GB SATA hard drive
- 512MB NVIDIA 8600GT
- ASUS P5KPL-VM (mainboard)

Can i run the pcsx2 succsesfully with 30 fps with this pc? (for example with Kingdom hearts and kingdomhearts 2).
I just need 30fps, because 30fps is the maximum of displayed frames on tv( ok i am not going to complain if i reach a higher fps :P)

Mem

PS: Sorry for my bad english.

Maximum fps should be no problem with that PC, in Kingdom Hearts atleast.

What's the point of asking for advice if you say you are not going to change your mind :P

You are also confusing some things. 30 fps in pcsx2 means the game will play at half the speed and has nothing to do with your tv.

Yes, you actually want 60-65 FPS, not 30. I have almost the exact same rig (except i got an 8800 gts instead) and i get an excellent framerate in many games. You should be fine.

@ihateregisterin: i thought fps is indepentend of the gamespeed?(ok with 2 frames you can only see your chara here...next frame here :P) for example the online shooter warsow is running with 90 fps at standart settings. On my current machine(500 mhz, 256 mb, 128mb ati radeon 9200 se) its nearly impossible. So i changed the maximum to 25 fps. The game was running much faster and the game speed was normal(the charas for example were not going to walk more slowly). Because of this example and some other games with the feature to limit fps i played, i thought the time ingame is the same with 30fps as with 60 fps.
Seems to be my bad, but can you explain how it works in other games with slowing down the max fps but not the gamespeed?

@Quezacotl: really? Great^^. At dec 24 this year i will test it and if it works well i am going to buy a gemapad^^(oh i forgot is it possible to use gamepads with this emu? I am not shure)

You are right on a normal PC game it works like you say. But it's different on the emulator. If you get 30fps it's because the emulator has only emulated the first 30 frames of the second, so it will need 2 seconds to emulate a real second making the game run at half speed.
And yes you can use gamepads.

No^^" i mean the differences between a 8600gt with 512 mb and a 8800gts.
Tuanming take a look at shockertwin' s last post and you will see what i mean. The same pc with a 8600gt or a 8800 gts, thats a "little bit" different in performance.

Don't buy that rig, especially that CPU!!!!!!

In january the new 45nm c2duos will be released and they'll be CHEAPER and BETTER.

For example the E8200 with 2,66GHz and 6MB L2 Cache...

dude you would waste your money by buying a new rig @tm

Not, he would have a computer he could use in December, when he would have, highly likely, a lot of free time. If he would like to save some money for now, and update CPU later, he could use E2180, or E2200 CPU. The former would need to be a little overclocked.

CPUs that I would like would actually arrive at Q2 2008.

Right, because we all know Intel releases new equivalent CPUs (E8200 and E6750) with a smaller price tag .

The rig sounds solid Memnarch. Personally though, I'd spend a bit more and get the 8800GT. The 8600GT really doesn't do any justice.

With the fast memory patch and Gsdx9, reaching 30fps on a ****ty machine is cake. With that new machine, you can hit about 100 in game.

if that's right than i would rather suppose a 8600gt with 256mb ddr3 memory.. i don't think that would be more exensive...

Yes it does

SHOP.COM : GeForce 8500GT 512MB DDR2
Dealio : GeForce 8500GT 512MB DDR2

I usually notice that if midrange and/or low range cards have DDR2 RAM, they have 512MB of it and 256 when DDR3.

If you are building a pc with the sole purpose of using pcsx2, you are much better off buying an actual ps2, 1/5th the price, 100% speed and compat.

skoreanime is right. Get the 8800 GT.

I got the 8800 GTS 320 MB back in may and after I saw the release of the GT my jaw dropped. Not only does it perform better than the 880 GTS 320 MB, it's cheaper too.

And it's thinner, if you care about room in your case.

@Borisz:

Theres something awesome though about running games at higher resolution than they are on the original system.

@Memnarch
