Serious gfx scaler (simple2x) needed

Hallo,
i couldn't find any gfx plugin that supports simple2x,3x,4x scalers that will give moire-free output to window or fullscreen. A simple x2 scale (x2 forced, cropped (if necessary), nearest neighbor) without any filter, stretching or further processing. Most plugins do have moire effects on unfiltered modes thus they are unusable (on small resolution differences you only notice it on moving/scrolling).

If you don't know what i'm talking about here's an illustration:

And yep... there is no Sonic on PSX (i think). I just needed a proper emulator for demonstration.

Have you tried P.E.Op.S soft plugin?

Don't PM or ask me about VMP-MCR conversions. I will ignore you if you do.

Yep, it has a '1:1 (faster with some cards)' mode that is pixelexact but unscaled (low-res, 320x240). It doesn't look too well on 640x480. The rest of the modes are more or less useless. Blurry or munched.

Its maybe not that easy to accomplish that. Most emulators go the easy way and use DirectDraw or GDI.

You could use the OGL2 plugin with its special shaders, because there's also a HQ?X (don't know exactly) shader, as far as I know.

The HQ?X and Scale?x filters are special post-processing filters that will not do the job (picture is resampled). I tried to find some simple2x shaders but couldn't find any. Most emulators have these functions hardcoded.

What is exactly what you are trying to accomplish?

The pc monitor will not cover the terrible graphics that the games had and that were covered by the blur of a normal tv, hence the filters.

Why not use the double fo the original resolution of that particular game?
