favorite game moment

as the title suggests fools, what is your favorite game moment, plot-wise. i shall go first given my superior awesomeness:

shodans return in system shock 2. never saw it coming and damn was it good. i knew the first time i played it that i would probably see her at some point or another but i never expected her to show herself the way she did.

I love the scene from Final Fantasy VIII when Rinoa and Squall are in space, though slightly cheesy I love this scene and it is one of my fav game moments.

Auron's monologue in FFX right before fighting Lady Yunalesca. Best monologue I've seen in a game. Ever.

@emwearz
Yeah, I remember that part. Cheesy, but quaint.... Loved it.

That space part in FF8 is one of my favorite too.

But my most Fav is the ending of FFX (before FFX-2 came out, cuz that definitely destroy the ending) right where Tidus attempts to hug Yuna, its gotta be the most touching moments that I have ever seen in the history of video games.

Never thought about it. I guess there can't be a favorite game moment for me, i enjoy every part of a game equally.

I prefer the friendship moments of Zack and Cloud. Friends are everything for me.
My girlfriend is the 2nd priority.

Same here, I loved it. Seen it so many times... because of the bloody game crashing right after they landed. How that pissed me off. Seems the PC version had a bug needing me to delete a certain wave file that was playing at that moment in order to get past it.

Other fav moments:

The day I finished Probotector 2 twice in a row without continues, with my brother, ultimate victory! I'll never forget that day.

Shenmue 1: The part where Nozomi got kidnapped in the middle of the night, the game just got better and better after that. The music rocked, and the pressure was big at that time. Such a brilliant game....

Shenmue 2: The climax on disc 3 is too awesome to describe, the battles are tough and challenging, the glimpse of Lan Di and the entire epic in Kowloon being round up. Also, disc 4 is such an anti climax afterwards, hardly any action but just story and relaxation in one of the most beautiful gaming areas ever to be created. It could very well have been the first part of Shenmue 3, but I loved how it was put in Shenmue 2.

Grandia 2: The part where Ryudo faces Melfice on their home island, the voice acting is just superb, it really sends down the chills down my spine.

Oh, and a new one last night. Playing Neverwinter Nights online, there was a festival on the server I always play, and my Dwarf won the ale drinking contest.

When Kefka destroys the world in Final Fantasy VI.

Back then, in JRPG's you could never see a villain succeed in his plan to destroy the world but Kefka did it. It was a shocker when he did so. I... i... i just couldn't comprehend what happened. The world was in ruins, my party members have all left me, Kefka ruled with an iron fist from atop his tower. As soon as you got to the world map, you saw barren wastelands, deserts... but not towns, no people. You felt like you are all alone, that noone is there to help you. Later on you find that some people did survive but almost everything was destroyed. It seemed like there is no reason to live anymore, to go on... but then you find your first party member, and later the second one and so on. The world just got a little brighter and new hope glimpses in your heart. You decide to gang up and decide to try and bring world to it's previous light, even if it means dying in the process.

To me, it was really a revolutionary and bold move that Square pulled and it's certainly one of my favorite gaming moments.

Yeah, that's why FF VI is one of my favorite games of all time, the game also offers the most freedom in an FF game, which is awesome.

What the hell?
I restarted FF6 about half a dozen times without ever finishing it, so funnily I never reached that point. I guess that means I'm giving FF6 another chance these days

FFVI is the best man. i should smack your dumb ass for not finishing it. 2nd half of the game is mostly non-linear, kefka sort of takes back seat in the 2nd half though.

Heh, I'm guilty too, please don't smack my ass! I never finished a Final Fantasy and I own 1-3 *US* and 7-10, and 12.

Yeah, I really have no reason to buy a RPG until I beat a few of them, and yes, I still have the 'first 3' Final Fantasy Super NES cartridges, although I really play them on my PC via emulation.

I'll get to them, eventually!
