Super Mario Galaxy Prologue (Video inside)

All can say is...WOW!!!

Looks like we have another EPIC coming. I get all the "mario universe" feeling by watching this video. I mean, the music seems right out of Mario 64, Bowser ship from SMB3, koopa wizards...anyway, judge it for yourself:

Super Mario Galaxy looks AMAZING for a Wii title. What stuck out for me in the first video (*NEW* Super Mario Galaxy prologue/introduction) was that all text was in japanese except Princess Peach "HELP ME" text.

IMHO, Nintendo is trying to get it's fans backs using nostalgia...i couldn't help but feel like i was watching SMB3 in 3D (Gorgeous 3D, btw)

And to be honest, i really liked what i saw. November can't come soon enough.

Edit : If you like nostalgia, look on the virtual console for :
"Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels"

Well, the Wii aint super-duper-extra weak either, it's not up to par with the 360, but we gotta keep in mind that, except for like Metroid Prime 3, most of the Wii titles released were either GC ports upgraded for the Wii (like Zelda, which still looked good) or simply made fast (like how Ubisoft did, and later said sorry for not trying hard enough because they thought the Wii would fail horribly... And then said that they'd try harder next time).

While the Wii aint AMAZING in gfx, the reactions I hear from all around makes me think peoples expect the Wii to have PS2-like gfx, while the Wii is still far superior to the xbox1, while being inferior to the 360.

Now that some time passed, more games taking advantage of the Wii power will be released to show that it's not only a slim gamecube with a Wiimote, but truly a separate console with it's own feature (other than Wii24, virtual console and ect).

Gfx aint gonna be the Wii selling point, but games can still looks good (like MP3 and Super Mario Galaxy are demonstrating).

I mean honestly, look at the difference between SSBM and the upcoming SSBB.
SSBM, which was released pretty soon after the GC (or maybe even at the very same time, dont remember well) :
Samus : http://image.com.com/gamespot/images..._screen014.jpg
SSBB, which will be released the 3 of december (giving it time to properly use the console hardware) :
Samus : http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/chara..._070615a-l.jpg
http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/chara..._070719d-l.jpg

SSBM Link (and ness): http://image.com.com/gamespot/images..._screen019.jpg

SSBB Link : http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/chara..._070523c-l.jpg
http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/chara..._070618b-l.jpg

And they arent gonna stop at the characters, look at the background, who are quite a upgrade too :

http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/stage..._070706a-l.jpg
http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/stage..._070802c-l.jpg

YOSHIIII http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/stage..._071002b-l.jpg

Anyway, this simply goes to show, between the GC at it early stages, and the Wii, one year later, there's a huge difference.

One year of developement helps studios to learn more about the limit of the console, so games to come are gonna use the power of the Wii, which isnt POWERFULZ-OMG, but is still nothing to be ashamed of.

Mario Galaxy looks amazing. You know, most people think the Wii is a gamecube 1.5x or a system slightly more powerful than the original xbox. While the Wii won't compete with the ps3 and 360 in terms of graphics, it has enough power to hold its own. Like the above poster pointed out, when the devs take time and effort to create a game from the ground up for Wii then it can look good.

I also hear people say how Wii's gpu is weak because it lacks pixel shader. It has the TEV engine which is basically a custom pixel shader. If the devs know how to use it, then you can see some great effects like we are seeing in Galaxy.
