Memcard doesn't show up

Hi there,

it seems I crashed my memcard files somehow.
I applied some inappropriate patch to FFX(german) and now pcsx2
is unable to read the Memcard. I've reverted everything including reinstalling pcsx2, but the memcard data won't show up - neither in-game("no data for FFX") nor under the memcard file menu(just empty).
BUT: If I check the memcard through the Bios I can see all my data.

What would be the right way to make the memcard data readable for pcsx2 again??

Thx,
Schnapp

By not installing "inappropriate patches" for save files...

you MAY be able to use a hex editor to edit your saves to try and get somewhere, but i HIGHLY doubt you'll get too far too quickly. I am going to have to say that your pretty much pooched.

First: the patches weren't for save files. I just enabled the provided hypermode patch and (inappropriatly) added a short line for a fastmemory patch.
Second: the Memcards are perfectly readable in the bios. Only the game's menu doesn't recognize em.
Third: I tried an older copy of my memcards from a usb stick and: it doesn't work, too!! How the hell can that be??!

As I said I re-installed pcsx2 just recently and now used an untouched(formerly working) memcards folder, but the result stays the same.
What the heck could have happended at all??

Thx,
Schnapp

Is there any save file specialist around here??

Copy your save file to a second, new and formatted memcard and try loading from there. If that doesn't work either, your save is corrupt and you can't do much about it

these "appropriate patches" wouldnt include the patch to read american save games would it? If you have that patch on, any german saves will not appear

Should I do so by using PCSX' memcards manager? If yes there's another prob as even formatted memcards don't show up in that manager for me(see attached cap).

Nope, nothing like that. Only the two lines I already mentioned. Disabling cheats doesn't affect the behaviour...

a quick conclusion: the memory cards are present in the bios; they are missing in both the memcards manager and ingame; patches don't seem to affect the issue.

Hoping for any good idea.

Thx so far!

Schnapp

No,you should do so by using the bios, the built in memcard manager just like on a real ps2
The PCSX2 memcard manager is not programmed to use those functions yet,so it is normal for it to not show the contents of your memcards or allow you to do any action on them.
