R.I.P. Robert Jordan

I was very sad when I recieved the news of his death, he always told his fans he'd fight of his disease and survive for another 15 years, he said he had so much more to write! IMHO he has written the greatest fantasy epic of all time, one that will now never be finished. But with or without this epic fantasy Robert Jordan was a great man who always cared a lot for his fans, and took time to reply to our questions and spend time with the fan community so most of all we will miss him.

My thoughts are also with his wife Harriet.

.....sorry if this is rude, but who exactly was Robert Jordan; or rather, what fantasy world was he working on?

He's the author of The Wheel of Time series. A friend of mine is a big fan of the series, so I feel his loss. It's as if I'd lose out on any future works by R.A. Salvatore.

OMG!!!! This is unbelievable....I'm a very big fan of the Wheel of Time...Hell the guy can be ranked with Tolkien....he was penning the last book of the series...was supposed to be a 2500 page blockbuster that will tie up all loose ends...Too many unanswered questions....he suspected that he didn't have mush time left, but he always promised us fans that he'll live long...His publisher was putting pressure on him to finish the book cos they too suspected that he didn't have much time left. This is a great loss to the literary loss..both his death and the death of the series.May he finally get the peace he deserves

If your right then most of the last book should be finished so they may get another writer to possibly finalize it.

Well....I recently read that he shared the final plots of the final book with his family members before he passed on

The only one who could and should be allowed to finish it is his wife! To hire another writer to finish it will be a big insult to him... there's simply none else who is good enough. I think he is better than Tolkien, his books and plots are very complicated though, too complicated for some people to follow.

I love his books, yet I've only read through the series once, there are people I know who have read all 19000+ pages over 12 times! I use to say they could get a university education for that!
