TOO expensive. Dont bother poking it with a 10-foot pole, especially for PCSX2
http://forums.ngemu.com/pcsx2-offici...light=computer

Socket 478 is superold, and will not allow semaless motherboard updates. Not many 478 mobos have PCI-Express GPU slots either, so this isnt a good deal.

For 180USD you can get Dual Core 1.86ghz. Easily.

230$ for a 2.4ghz.
There's a 2.33ghz for 175$
Newegg.com - Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 Conroe 2.33GHz 4M shared L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor - Retail

And various other processor for near the price you said, and are still a lot better.

Well, it's only a little more pricey than what he was talking about (130US) and it can tell him what he should look for in shops around where he's from. He can see the various processor and what kind of price he should try to get (average).

Just a little note, might as well jump on the 1333fsb CPU chips, the 1066fsb ones are going to be out production soon enough. Most motherboard manufacturers already have...

i was just reading today about the 1066fsb to 1333fsb mods.
you just have to connect two pins on the processor together and you get a 1333fsb stock processor.

but thats only useful if your mobo won't let you overclock to 1333fsb.
i guess it could be useful if your mobo dosn't support 1066fsb
