FF8 Text Problem
Hey guys, I'm trying to run FF8, and everything looks great besides ALL the text. Any in-game text is purple and broken (For example, here's the load game screen: xs.to - Hosting - ff8.png) I'm running Pete's OpenGL2 2.8, as follows: GFX card: GeForce 8800 GTS 312MB Overclock Resolution/Color: - 640x480 Fullscreen - NO desktop changing - Internal X resolution: 2 - Internal Y resolution: 3 - Keep psx aspect ratio: - No render-to-texture: off - Filtering: 2 - Hi-Res textures: 2 - TexWin pixel shader: on - VRam size: 256 MBytes Framerate: - FPS limitation: on - Frame skipping: off - FPS limit: Auto Compatibility: - Offscreen drawing: 2 - Framebuffer effects: 3 - Framebuffer uploads: 2 Misc: - Scanlines: off - Mdec filter: on - Screen filtering: on - Shader effects: 0/1 - Flicker-fix border size: 1 - GF4/XP crash fix: off - Game fixes: on [00000002] I've tried almost every different setting and 3 different video plugins, all have the same problem. The game looks perfect on my PS2, by the way. Any help would be great, thanks! Oh, and I just tried running the exact same settings on another PC, and it ran great. Any ideas what the problem could be? I have the latest drivers for my video card... Last edited by Kamikaze42; September 15th, 2007 at 01:12.. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

here be my settings Plugin: Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.8 Author: Pete Bernert Card vendor: NVIDIA Corporation GFX card: GeForce FX 5900XT/AGP/SSE/3DNOW! Resolution/Color: - 640x480 Window mode - Internal X resolution: 2 - Internal Y resolution: 2 - Keep psx aspect ratio: off - Filtering: 4 - Hi-Res textures: 2 - TexWin pixel shader: on - VRam size: 0 MBytes Framerate: - FPS limitation: off - Frame skipping: off - FPS limit: Auto Compatibility: - Offscreen drawing: 1 - Framebuffer effects: 3 - Framebuffer uploads: 2 Misc: - Scanlines: off - Mdec filter: on - Screen filtering: on - Shader effects: 1/4 - Flicker-fix border size: 0 - GF4/XP crash fix: off - Game fixes: on [00000002] if it does it on 3 different plugins then it probably needs updated drivers |

the latest are 163.67, i advise you to update to them, even though they are classed as beta, they have more fixes, including one for the texture management in the drivers memory management.

Nope, I got it, thanks! I needed to change the texture filtering to 5 for some reason (its the only one that works!?). Oh well, thanks again. |

that is strange, but not impossible, i always used 6 myself with no issue.. but i've since turned it to 4 as 6 causes miscolouring on FF7 on 2d textures
