being an FX5200, i presume theres no fan on it? id recommend rigging one on there if you're going to overclock, it can help squeeze a bit more out of it

Lol, or just keep the money and by yourself a new card altogether! What you could do, if you dont want to buy a fan (or a new card), is open up the case and have a regular fan blowing at it. It helps, alot.

As for how to oc the card, use rivatuner or ntune. Take it up a bit at time, and dont oc both the memory and core at the same time, so if artifacts appear, you'll know you've hit its limit. Every few times you oc run something that is strenuous on the card, like 3dmark. If artifacts appear lower it alot, and test it more regularly till you find its sweet spot.

Hehe a decent fan is just as much worth as a FX5200 these days, so I hope he has a spare one in that case.

But I'd also want a PCI gfx card such as that for benching or as backup in case I'll ever need to reflash a ****ed up bios flashed card. xD

An FX5200 won't show much increase by overclocking but if you decide to do it then up either core or mem clocks at a time not both. Go in small steps and check with Atitool artifact scanner for example for about 5mins and then continue to up the clock until it finds artifacts and then lower it 5 - 10MHz and try again for a bit longer time, perhaps 15mins and you should be good to go.

I overlcoked my FX5200, and there isnt a fan on them afaik, personally I superglued one onto the heatsink I cant offer anymore advice than is already given, but I can suggest using coolbits, to hack the registries so you can do your oc'ing through the Nvidia cp.
