FFX Issue
I apologise in advance for another FF thread and im aware theres already a ridiculous number of them already. I did have a search and tried some of the methods for other problems listed in said threads but nothing seems to either help or address the exact problem im experiencing so please if this has been answered before dont shoot. Anyhow I realised FFX is the only ps2 game i have which is actually going to play emulated and since i haunt started it on my PS2 yet figured I'd make use of save states etc. Problem is I can get to this point fine but literally a second or two after zoning here I get a huge display corruption with lines and polygons everywhere. It sometimes (But not always) spams this error in the command box when it happens. Performance isnt an issue, its running very fast and smooth. I've tried disabling AA, imaging the disc and running various disc emulators, disabling threaded/multi-core mode etc and nothing seems to help. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Using version 0.9.2 on Vista 64 Quad 3ghz, 4GB ram and 8800Ultra if that helps. |

I think that's where the first video starts. I'm not sure it matters, but perhaps AA is enabled in the gfx card drivers and that is causing a problem?

Tried forcing it off (Was application controlled) and it actually lasted a second or so longer but i think that was a fluke. If there is a vid it seems to happen before that since he shouted something about 'comon, hey' or something and usually does it before that even. Thanks for reply at least.

I think I've seen this error before. If I remember correctly, it's a scene where Auron says something to Tidus (or MAYBE the other way around) right before the start of a video. Try disabling MT, dual-core, AND using PEOpS CDVD plugin all at the same time. Also, try different caching mode settings with that particular plugin. I know that has fixed this issue for many people (myself included) at that point. It's one of the more common errors with that game and there was a thread about it some time ago. Another thing to consider is that you don't want to use a save state that is right before that part. It can cause the error to be duplicated no matter what settings you use because the actual problem may stem from something that happened a bit before the save (you've essentially saved the error). Load from the in-game save sphere if there is one before that part when trying this solution. I can't recall for certain if there is as I'm at the end of the game now. If there isn't, make sure you use a save state that is awhile back (at least a minute of game-play before). Hope this helps.

Could well help as i was trying to fix the problem via a save state. Ill let you know when ive had a go. Many thanks. Manging to get a bit further, i actually see graphical corruptions for about 5-10s then it crashes. Might just give up and play on ps2 tbh

alternatively, what you could do is transfer the save over from your PS2 from the first save point to PCSX2. all you need is PS2exec (which is an FTP host) and the guides found at the bottom of the FAQ, n you can get your save over bypassing that problem
