in Vista it wants to install a service, but it won't let me... but if I run it as administrator, it doesn't ask to install it =P

long story short, I'm now reinstalling steam, and since the game backup failed, redownloading too....
I think I'll stay out of this beta for a while....

Chrono Archangel, made you an admin.

Hard core Rikki this is like Xfire on steroids It also works In-Game and you can add Non-Steam games to the list.

It has some flaws but its expected for a beta.
w00t, Steam doesn't give me problems, suppose I'm finally in. Now Samor is having problems so we're still not having easy TDU contact, darn

Well, just count me in, name's CHighwind.

Edit: CHighwind is my Steam account name, my community name might be different, let me find out.
Oh, and screw them for not having my town name in the list, it's got bloody Vlist in it, but not my place >_>

I've registered on the Steam forum to ask but they manually verify your account... might take a little while...

Eeeeek! Never ever use the backup function Just backup the SteamApps folder manually

CHighwind this doesn't have a search feature yet so its best if you post here your SteamID page. Anyone who wants to join the NGEmu group should post their SteamID page.

I noticed... too late.
Anyway, kind of annoying that they manually verify new sign ups for the forum... kind of a bad way to provide support.
Don't seem to be many Vista users (once again) as I've seen only one asking about the same subject, but he's not reporting having problems with it. I want to verify if it's the idea to run Steam in administrator mode (Vista UAC) permanently, because it doesn't seem to work properly otherwise with the beta. That however, seems odd as Steam never needed it before.

ah well, it seems to work properly when launching steam elevated (as administrator), so I'll just do that.... (still a bit weird, though... I think)

Steam Community :: ID :: samor

*edit* a "problem" is that when adding games to steam they're all run as administrator because of this.... that's fine for the games that already did, the others... depends on where they're saving their progress.... maybe I'll just run every single game as admin then... both steam and xfire would work that way, but that's almost the same as disabling UAC alltogether (sorry XP users for all the Vista talk). ...allthough eh, this one's looking a lot prettier than Xfire.

We need to wait and see if this turns out great. So far so good, for a BETA that is, but Xfire still has support for more games.

Is the in-game chat working for you in TDU? Because here, it isn't....

anyway, there's clearly a few issues here... allthough it's working in some games.

If anyone wants to know or wants to keep an eye out for me, I'm registered at the Official Steam user Forums under the Screen Name Xtreme2damax as well.

Yes the registration process is slow there since they verify and add you manually through moderation queue, took me three days before I could post in their forums.
