Today I received a letter telling me what was in the will of my aunt.
Mind you I didn't see her much, but you may still be surprised at what the will says.

Her neighbor got $10,000 to take care of her dogs.
Another friend of hers got $1,000 for doggie treats.
Her belongings and her estate are to be sold and the money is to be given to the local pound.

Now...what did my family get...Nothing. Mind you, we were her only living family.
Well, actually at the funeral we got a shoebox filled with documents about her estranged daughter, but that was because nobody else wanted them. On top of that, she never owned a dog, but a cat here and there.

Ouch, tough luck there. Quite a harsh decision she made there, if she wrote it herself that is.

If you didn't see her much why are you surprised she didn't leave you anything?

If you couldn't be bothered to make the effort to go and see her on a regular basis, or at least call her, why should she have been bothered to leave you anything.

Was she single for most of her life as a mother?... Might explain things. Bitter people who grow old alone are bitter to the very end...
