Unhappy real memory card

my psone was purchased in canada along with a third party memory card which is of a decent brand, now i want to know:

1: is it true that 3rd party memory cards will *die* after a few years of use? or atleast die faster than official memory cards?

2: please recommand a power transformer BRAND for my psone, i'm currently in hong kong and i already fried my dreamcast, which was also purchased in canada, my transformer also went to hevan with it.

thank you.

The only memory card I've ever had die was one that had multiple cards on it, and one time I tried switching it back and forth between its memory cards over and over, and it never worked again.

Other than that, I've never had a memory card die, and most of mine (at least the PS1/PS2 ones and a few others) are third party.

it's just too bad there's no more brand new official sony mem cards for sale anymore, i should have bought one when i had the chance. i intially thought ps2 mem cards were compatible with the new psone sony release alongside ps2, atleast back then, and there were alot of buzz about how a ps2 controller works with psone and vice versa so i thought i can always get a ps2 memcard in the future....oh well

Well, I've found a million used PS1 memory cards in various places, you can check eBay as well.

PS1 controllers work on PS2, but not PS2 controllers on PS1. Same goes with every other peripheral. So don't buy PS2 stuff thinking it'll work on PS1.

And I don't really care what people call anything...although I do like the name PStwo, it always looks like "twhoa" instead of "too" to me.
