0.9.2 shows lower cpu speed

Hi,
i just tried out the 0.9.2 with two games and the best performance i got was about 20frames

but under tab config->cpu it only shows me 801Mhz and i actually have 1,7Ghz
so does PCSX2 run with the shown 801Mhz?
how can i solve the problem then?
as well i would like to test it with a sound Null plugin but the one in the package says its wrong version, SPU2null.dll 4 != 5

thanks

Well SPU2null has being dropped. Only work on older versions.
Why? The dev team says it doesnt consume much resources, and some games wouldnt work with it, they need real sound feedback.

And about your CPU speed, what processor you have?
Ive seen on Both Intel and AMD some tecnologies (Cool ´n Quiet and SpeedStep) that lowers the processor clock to keep the energy consumption low.

I have an Intel Pentium M 740
i dont know if pcsx2 uses the full capacity...
perhaps it just doesnt run any faster

I run with zerogs SSE2 and PS 3.0
and ingame i dont get more than 12fps

i dont expect it to run smoothly, but 12fps appears a bit too low to me

it's probably showing a lower speed because laptops slow your cpu down when you dont need the power, pcsx2 just detects the current speed its running at, so its not an inaccuracy

but either way, it isnt a problem, what it detects is irellivant to pcsx2's performance.

as for the performance, what graphics card is in that laptop? they generally arent very good, so its likely to be bogging your speed down, you may find gsdx9 in pixel shader 1.4 to be faster

i have a geforce 6800 go

the zerogs with sse2 and ps 3.0 is the fastest option for me
so there wont be any chance to get more than ~14 frames ^^

thank you for your answers, keep the good work

dont care about that i have a 3800+ and it sometimes shows me the real speed (2000MHz), sometimes only 1400 and i even had 3380MHz, so dont take it too serious

Try: Start - Control Panel - Power Options
Set it to "Home/Office Desk" or "Always On" and see if that resolves it. I know "Minimal Power Management" and possibly some of the other options can cause "Cool & Quiet" to kick in. Changing it to one of the first two I mentioned is the best way to be 100% sure C&Q is off. Just remember, it will cause your CPU to run a bit hotter. In most cases this isn't a problem unless you have poor ventilation, overclock, or have something else in there generating heat (video card that runs hot, etc).

i allready did that but it didnt change anything still the same, but i think as long as i know my cpu speed that doesnt matter - thanks anyway

PS: i figured out that other apps are giving me wrong cpu speeds too so this isnt an error of pcsx2
