PCSX2 emulator trouble, please advise on solution
Hey everybody, I got a question if anyone can give me a hand, first off, I DO own a playstation 2 so please dont flame on me about this question. I got my bios and pcsx2 on my computer, but I cant seem to get the bios to work, when I try to run a ps2 game it says it cant find the bios and then it lets me manually select it, and when I select the bios for it to use it starts and immediatly crashes and says pcsx2t has stopped working. Heres my computer system in case it might help solve this problem: Windows Vista X64 bit edition AM2 athlon 4200+ dual core processor 1 GB DDR2 ram (1 stick) Nvidia Geforce 7950GT 512 MB DDR3 (PCI-E) DVD-Burner Gigabyte dual bios motherboard (not that I think that it matters for this) Has anyone seen this error? Is it common? The game that im trying to run is Final Fantasy X, but I cant even get it to load the dang bios! Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions! I edited this for another question, for some reason I cant run the regular pcsx2.exe, it will only let me run pcsx2t, does anyone know how I can use the regular pcsx2.exe, its supposed to be faster I guess? |

Firstly, have you tried downloading the VM fix? Second, what model is the ps2 you dumped the BIOS from? I think that some newer ones are suppose to not be compatible or something, I might be wrong though, I usually am!

alright ive edited this post 3 times now lol, alright I got everything GOOD TO GO! Bios loads up just fine after all, it turned out to be a PLUGIN problem! I switched from the ZERO to the gsdx9, and it runs superb, my bios file is hitting frames of over 40 FPS!!! Now im going to load up FFX. I also need to ask 1 more question, is it possible to play games from other countries with ANY ps2 bios? Im in Germany right now, and if I go out and buy a european game, will it work with my bios? Or even a japanese game?

But what im asking is, can any game from any region run? Or does it need its own seperate bios? Can I just go out and buy games here in europe and have them play on my american bios?

Thanks, and now I have ANOTHER situation. I know im hopeless. Im not new to emulation, but am BRAND new to ps2 emulation. Anyhow, my new problem is, how can I run my ps2 game? Its in my dvd drive, but when I try and say run cd/dvd, it just starts pouring out strands of numbers (isoreadblock) and then it goes straight to the bios and there is no dvd rom activity. I tried to configure the dvd rom in the settings area, but it just says select iso, and then when I click it it brings me to the bios folder to select a bios, how can I have this run my ps2 game from the drive? Do I HAVE to run an .iso or something?

What is the plugin you are using called? It sounds like your using an iso plugin, not a plugin to run it from an actual drive.

im using the efp, it converts it to a iso I guess, but still I cant get it to run, I have tried the other plugins but none of them let me just click on the run cd/dvd and start. Is there another plugin somewhere I can download, or is there possibly something im just doing wrong?

I use EPP Poling plugin, it is the simplist plugin to configure, you just enter the drive letter you want to use. If that dosent work for you then there is something else wrong, It could be something really stupid like you disc drive dosent like reading ps2 dvd's, or somethig of that nature. You could try actually making an iso of the disc using a program like Iso buster, hereCD and DVD Data Recovery/Rescue software, also featuring BD and HD DVD and then using the iso, it might work!
