Dell Dimension 4700
Hi guys! First of all I have a Dell Dimension 4700... I recently upgraded the ram to 2GB DDR2 PC4200 and my video card to an Ati Radeon X1600 Pro. Anyways I also have a 250GB Western Digital Hard Drive that I installed and it seems like only 140gb is available. I flashed my BIOS with the most updated one from dell's website and it still shows up as 140gb.Someone told me that the mother board is too old and I need to get a SATA Controller in order to use the full 250gb... Is this true? What can I do about the missing space on my hard drive?

Is it S.ATA or IDE? You cant use a S.ATA connector if its not a S.ATA drive, and it cant be because ur using it with IDE, right? Are u sure that u just havnt formatted it right? |
