Interview with a games company tomorrow.

Right now, in about 12 hours time, I have an interview with a real games company. It's not a super big one, but it's pretty big ( Telcogames : Smartphone, Symbian, Windows Mobile games for your mobile phone - Homepage ).

This is like...my big chance, my big opportunity and to be honest, I'm ****ting myself. I've had interviews for plenty of other jobs and they didn't bother me, but I think because this one is so important I'm getting really nervous about it.

The company specialises in mobile phone games, which sadly, I don't know very much about. I've made games before on PC's and even PS2 hardware, I've had a glimpse into GBA stuff but nothing spectacular.
Anyone got any tips, or even words of encouragement they'd like to give? I could use the boost right now.

Well. This is normal to fear an job interview. I'm not gonna tell you "stay cool","don't be nervous" or ridiculous things like that. Just a tip you surely already know.Just a remind....

We are all nervous before a moment we think gonna be important. If you are in a place you don't know, this feeling is more present because you got the sensation to have lost your marks. What meaby gonna happen today.

If you want to make it less ubiquitous or more, get completely rid of this, you need "a piece of mark". Take something you really like with you (no no, your girlfriend doesn't count this time...and I said something!), a fetish, someting with a soft touch sensation like an handkerchief.

Then every time you feel nervous, take it and remember a moment when you felt good, when you had the control, a moment when you felt strong. You should feel more calm.
Of course, in front of your interviewer, it won't be surely possible. So touch something with the same feeling than your handkerchief like the cloth of your trousers.It should have the same effect.

Recover your marks can be also done by other ways: the color of the room, the shape of an object, the interviewer who strangely look like Jessica Alba(

!!)...Everything which can make you feel good, positive and strong is good to take.

anyways to the opening poster don't fell nervous be ur original self and give the interview and also dress in some decent suit or something to make an impression and don't forget to take those PC games that u build....they would make a good impression for sure

Well, Just got back from the interview and it seemed to go quite well. I showed him a couple of demos, which he was impressed by and said I knew my stuff and was obviously very keen.

I wont know until next week if I got the job or not, but I think I did my best.

I got a call back today!

There were 6 people who went for the interview. 4 of them were not good enough.

I'm one of the remaining 2!

So it's just me and one other guy, and the next interview is next month.

It's getting close now.

Oh and as fate would have it, the other person happens to be a good friend of mine!
