I Need Help With A Few Things.
1. Is there a program that can tell you whether a Sega Genesis rom is either in bin or smd format? The reason that I want to know is because I want to do some rom hacking and I want to make sure that particular roms are actually in bin format and not just renamed to a smd extension. GoodGen doesn't rename roms to the correct extension, it just leaves the extension the same. 2. Is there a way to direct to the root of a drive without using a drive letter? I plan on using custom icons for folders that I plan to put on a CD with the help of the desktop.ini file. Problem is that the icons have to be in a sub-directory of the folder that I want to use the icon with in order for the icon to show up on the folder unless I specify a drive letter and the path leading to my icon folder. The folders I want to change the icons for are: :\Stuff\Music\ :\Videos\ and the icon folder is: :\Icons\ I want to be able to direct the ini to the root of the CD (without using a drive letter) and then to the folder with the icons. I don't want to have to resort to using the "D:\Icons\" because I might be using a CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive that has a different drive letter other than D:. Of course I could put the icons in the music and video folders but I like to keep the icons contained all in one folder away from the other folders. I'm looking for something that I can put in like "%SystemRoot%\" but something else that would work for CDs or whatever drive that the files are being run on. 3. Is there a program that will allow you to assign zip files in particular folders to certain programs? The reason why I want to know is because when I double-click on a zip file, it opens with a zip program (obviously ). I want to assign zip files in my Genesis folder to open with Kega and I want to assign zip files in my NES folder to open with Nestopia and so on.Hopefully someone can help me with these things. Thanks in advance. Any help is appreciated.
