Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2 problem...

I was reading a recent 'Top 100 games of all time' chart and saw Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2, so I decided to relive one of my favourite games ever.
The problem is when I select a level, it will automatically quit to desktop and I have no idea why because it never did this before. Its the PC version of the game. Here is my PC spec:

Windows XP
512RAM
Nvidia Geforce MMX 440 64MB
Avance soundcard
DirectX9.0c

Would appreciate any help

Try running it in different compatibility modes (if it wasn't designed for Windows XP). Some older games need it.

Yes I tried all the suggestions in that forum too and it didnt work. However, I tried installing a little patch file and it didnt work the first time but 5 minutes later I reloaded and bingo. Apparently this game is one of a few that runs weird on XP

Activision should have released a patch I think...
