Yes.

Note that when you ask a question without detailed information, you will get an answer without detailed information.

Why yes of course...the more interesting question would be if *you* can "play this game at playable speed", non ?

ahh and now we can give you a more precise answer:

Nope

Sorry, but single core cpus are not powerfull enough to emulate FF XII (or any other 3d game for that matter) at full (or anything even close to) speed...upgrade to the latest dual core cpu or play it on your PS2.

mh with my configs it works with good sound and good graphic. Only my cpu sucks

Edit:
I looked around for a new CPU and now my Queston... What do i need? Is a Intel Pentium D wirth 2 3,4 ghz Cores good enough or do i need the new core 2 duo CPUs?

@XeZZ:You won't even be able to emulate FFX at full speeds, and it's one of the few games that work nearly perfectly on the current PCSX2. And also, you're computer is pretty weak to start off, so you won't ever see FFXII at full speeds.

@guidino:That's a laptop, no? Exactly the same specs as mine. And yes, you can get it running, but like I said to XeZZ, good luck trying to run it with decent playable frame rates. And check the configuration guide, other threads related to FFXII (Wowee, we do have a search function!) or just play around with the settings yourself.

@skoreanime: Yes, I've got a Macbook Pro running WinXP SP2... I've already test Final Fantasy X-2 with a very good frame rate but there're too many graphic bug (no floor, no walls, only characters looks good).
Tried many configuration but just this one works:

ZeroGS 0.96
EFP polling CDVD 0.4.0
BIOS Europe v.02.00(14/06/2004)

CPU settings:
EERec: on
VU0rec: on
VU1rec: on
MTGS: on
Dual Core Mode: on
Frame Limiting: Normal

With Final Fantasy XII I just can look the intro movies (at only 25/30 fps ) but the game won't start :'(

Thanks for any ideas

Not really suprising, FFXII is still pretty buggy on the current PCSX2. FFX-2 plays all right on my laptop as well, but I'd still preffer to play it at full speed on my PS2, 45ish FPS is too slow for me .

status ingame that should be enough to explain it(ex. crushes etc.) slow is that you need a core2duo or an athlon x2 at least , to be able to play it @ around 25 fps, if you want more fps after you've got one of these , you'll need to overclock the cpu 2 around 3 ghz or more and you'll have quite decent speed.

obviously the game is playable on a fast enough single core processor...ur GPU needs work tho and ur cpu is on the low end....25-35fps isn't bad.

http://forums.ngemu.com/pcsx2-offici...hots-here.html

That link should help....25-35fps on a 3200+... overclocked tho

25-35 fps is like playing half the speed of a real Ps2! How could you called that "isn't bad"...

he's got a core 2 duo in his signature @3100 so i don't think it runs that fast on slow athlon 64

i am getting 35 fps and i own a core2 duo overclocked @ 3200

But aren't we talking about FFXII? If so, 25-35 is not playable in the Final Fantasy series... I can get up to 70 fps in FFXII...

Yes, and I use to own a A64, and 35fps on a C2D @ 3.2ghz is horrible, much like tuanming my numbers are often in the high 70's / 80's.

Hmmm, yes, that does seem quite low for a Core 2 Duo clocked @ 3.2Ghz. Then again, it might be his GPU, the 7900GS. But I really don't think it is...maybe the RAM then? Says DDR2, but it could be 533Mhz RAM /shrugs.

So, curious, running on a Geforce 7600 GS with a AMD 64 duo @ 2212 MHZ, and 2 gig of DDR2, what should I be expecting on most PS2 games?

You cant expect anything for most games, theres the FF series which run quite well on most machines, then most other games run at unplayable speeds unless you have a very high end rig. Every game runs different.
