Wii PAL VC HDTV problems
When I run snes or MD games through the virtual console, my LCD displays "no signal", but when I press the home button the wii menu appears fine, and you can see the game running in the background, also if I delete the save file for the game, it starts up fine until you press the wii menu button. I contacted nintendo and they said that this was a "known issue" and to use composite cables. composite cable = on any HDTV and besides why should I have to swap cables when I want to play a snes game?It seems like the console sends the correct sync data to the screen without a savefile (I think pal snes is 270i if there is such a resolution) when you press the home button the wii sends a 576i signal to the tv, when you exit the menu I dont think the Wii is properly changing back to the original 270i signal The nintendo guy also said he thinks that nintendo is working on a fix but couldnt give me any solid information, this sounds pretty normal cause phone support guys are usually kept in the dark about stuff like this, that way nintendo doesnt have to promise anything, also as its a PAL issue that falls under Nintendo of Europe which means I am probably screwed If anyone else has this problem or a fix please let me know. (sorry if the above doesnt make much sense, I am on some heavy painkillers at the mo cause my back went into spasm for 5 hours of red hot poker stabby stabby happy funness)
