what means libdma error in timesplitters 2 NTSC?

hi

i've tested timesplitters 2 today (ntsc us version - not listed on pcsx2 homepage). the EU version of the game is signed as "nothing" (so i think nothing happens).

but the ntsc version loads very fast and goes into menü (can create profile and select game mode). the menü is very fast and i think ingame the game will be fast too - like the first part of timesplitters (fullspeed on my rig).

but after the 2 screens (look @ the attachement) i got a message in the console

"libdma: sync timeout" (i think lib stands 4 library - or im wrong?)

any help???

i can choose any option - arcade or whatever - but before getting ingame in every case this error appears (but i think 3D rendering is possible because when i choose a model there is a 3d modell and it looks fine)

important!
- make sure "frame limit" is activated
- without mtgs enabled the game doesn't load
- to see characters in arcade mode character selection use no vm build of pcsx2 (otherwise zerogs will crash because a texture error)
- gsdx doesn't load the game (plugin crashed right after start the emu)

emu config:

ZeroGS KOSMOS 0.96.0
SSSPSX PAD Plugin 1.7.0
P.E.Op.S. CDVD Driver 1.2.0
P.E.Op.S SPU2 DSound Driver 1.6.0
rendering: normal checked (limit)
MTGS: checked
DC: checked

btw. - the sound is the best i've ever heard in a emulated ps2 game - clear and without any errors

Happens also with TS1
It's a matter of incomplete emulation, nothing you can do about.
Except from trying PCSX 0.9.1

in PCSX 0.9.1 i can't reach the menue...

but thanxx 4 ur response - i'll wait 4 the next version of pcsx and give it a new try - like all my other games that will not run on the emu... for so long i use my ps 2

uhm - got it to work now...

oh - does the game "not" work because u know it's the fastest emulated 3d game in pcsx 2???

suspicious - over 300 frames per second (and this is NOT a fake) - without fraps, the counter go over 2000 frames.

Well, you can see by the screenshot that at that point in the game there's only 992 polys per frame, so that speed doesn't surprise me at all.

Why do kids think their parents stuff is automatically theirs?

This has NOTHING to do with the games. When you sell/give away/i-dun-give-a-damn your PS2 you also loose your right to legally use the bios files.

And yes, this is fussy but pcsx2 (and especially this forum) is walking a thin line already so everyone's on the edge.

to Hatman

i do agree with you on all but 1st thing im not a kid im going to college and evry system which i have ever owned since n64 i have purchased on my own.
My point saying i sold my ps2 was because im trying hard to get a ps3 jsut cant find 1 in stock where i live in (Brooklyn NY) and i doubt dumping the ps3's bios is going to be possible anytime soon. I can easily borrow my step fathers ps2 dumb the bios with no problems with him at all, its just why waste time, my friend who dumped his bios just gave them to me. So is it wrong for me to have a ps3 which is also a ps2 and is not possible to dump those bios or even use them if they were possible to dump? I udnerstand piracy is illegal and i dont download anything game related because i strongly beleive in supporting developers. If we pirate they ether wont be able to afford to make more games or just raise the price of purchasing games so i dont think i ahve done anything which is against pcsx2 rules

Regardless what you believe, there is no debating the fact that the only BIOS file you're entitled to is one dumped from your own console. Not friends or relatives. And in case you're not aware of it, yes, you have violated PCSX2 forum rules.

for everyone:
Time Splitters 2 works only with PCSX2 0.9.2 RC1 and MTGS enabled.
