For me after hearing the real thing it sounds horrible :P. Rukia voice doesn't fit (original is more strong), Ichigo as well (original puts more feeling into it shows more spirit, hell its even more manly)...

You have a really skewed opinions about dubs. I can't imagine rukia or ichigo's voices sounding any different in the dub.

The "real" thing sounds just as cheasy, you just can't understand what they are saying.

Well... wrong, first of all it being cheesy or not was never part of the debate, to me their's a world of difference between dub and original, as for not understanding well of course their are subs but that doesn't count as the only answer anymore since now i do understand to a degree what they're saying.

Except for FF games i never seen a dub where it can stand up to the original and i'm not just talking about japanese, but about any kind of dubs from any country, french movies for example. Dubing for instance Louis de Funes kills the show drastically, even if you don't understand what he is saying hearing him saying it together with his mimic adds quite a lot of immersion and comic to his shows.

Um yes, cheesy dialogue flies a lot better in japanese. An english voice actor has to regularly make a fool of themselves while dubbing in the studio.

If you can't fully enjoy it without subtitles then it really doesn't count as you aren't really listening to it while watching.(even I understand japanese to some degree at this point) Subbers go through lengths to make the script sound more intelligent than it actually is.

The dialogue in FF XII and XIII were completely reworked for the english release.

Please stop using this its irrelevant to the discussion, like i said it once i will say it again, it has nothing to do with the subject, although their are some who might get influenced by, i am not one, i get by just fine spotting cheesiness in both japanese and english neither where factors that bothered me, nor did i ever mentioned something about it. And if you really wanna know a lot of times the jap one can be cheesier then the ENG one...

I am listening, while watching and reading to ( some times being more like checking a confirmation if i got it right, at least now days), original voices put more feeling into it, it doesn't mater just what a character actually says but it also matters a great deal how he says it, the original cast does a lot of a better job transmitting the proper feelings of the said character and their's also a sync because everything is based on the culture that show is made (both video and audio), by introducing a dubber you disturb the balance and it looses part of its cultural value due to cultural differences, thus being desynced. This is pretty much what i said with the french movies example as well.

Edit: about subs, your a bit wrong, there are to many sub groups to categorize it like that, some or faithful some are like you said and some are worser then the original...

PS: lol at the video.

I wish the ovas would release faster, I can only go a few more seconds before I need clips from the anime that haven't been released yet(read the manga).

Found a great site where I can stream anime and not have to download anything. It's really good quality and they have quite a selection. Thanks to the easy access, I've been able to watch anime quite easily and really get into it like the old days. Lol.

Thanks to Strike, I'm now watching Higurashi no naku koro ni. I'm really anticipating it!

Yer I just download my anime too, 720p if its an http download and 1080p for towwentz(assuming its available).

Unless its just upscaled to 720p(like naruto and bleach).

Most of the clips for that amv I just posted were originally 1080p, I just downscaled them to 720p during the conversion because 1080p content is such a processor rapist.

Can you mods be consistent with what you want discussed or not? Damn. We aren't asking for help or posting links (crunchyroll.com is a legit site). I don't see the issue.
