I suggest turning off extra features such as bilinear filtering and/or anti aliasing.

It's quite normal, zaboom. I have the same experience. Turning off bilinear filtering and anti-aliasing can have great impact on that, though. Later on in the game you will have the same experience in speed delay, but it varies depending on how big the area is, and how many characters (PC and NPC) there are around you.

My specs:
AMD Athlon64 X2 3800+
2x512 MB Dual DDR400 Geil RAM
GeForce 7800GT

I've set CPU to "Limit FPS" and all boxes checked.
ZeroGS Kosmos

The rest is basic ...

nope, no difference at all, i tried turning off billinear filtering and antialisasing, and theres no difference, i also reinstall the emu but nothing, could it be a problem with the iso? or anyone here is playing the european version of the game??

come on ill say the location of jimmy hoffa body th the one who solve my problem

***** another problem, even with tidus running slow as hell, i get to the frist fmv sequence and the screen started showing random color lines, i could hear the sound, and when it was over the game continued like before...but ff's w/o fmvs is like pizza without cheese man, so any ideas?, first i want to solve the other problem cause the game its almost unplayable like this

slds.-

Pd.: Sory for the ppl that cannot understand english, but MY english sux a lot... so, i prefer type like this

LOL i used google translation. Let's see if this make sense...

Martin:

I also am of Argentina, am called Pablo, comment, these problems to you that you happen are because the emulator at issue not this optimized like deberia, so until another version (1,0) that goes to seguirte happening, I I have PC of company/signature and even so it has certain parts where FPS lower to 32, like when the ball of Wakka between pirañas bounces that attacks Tidus, with MTGS + DC ON, so you do not become as much drama, waits for a new version of the ready emulator and. That sucedera with the FFX-2 or Grandia III, but I suppose that something similar, it is one does not hurt for which queiren to play a game “like people”. But I understand your problematic one, since (at least from my point of view) THERE IS no rpgs Decent for PC nowadays… if it leaves something, avisame. slds. -

grax y a esperar entonces

translation:

what a letdown, so it seems that the emu or the 3d plugins are not yet optimized to work with my pc or my video card yet, so ill have to wait till the next release.
please pcsx2 team optimize next version for the new nvidia 8800gtx!!
offtopic: pc rpgs nowdays sucks, im playing oblivion and it has no meaning in leveling up and its damn repetitive.

thanks!

Sese... es una lastima...

Yep... exactly... but i think someday (2009 maybe?) FFX and FFX-2 will be playable like a PC game... until that moment...

IMHO ... to make full use of that graphics card 8800GTX, at least a 7 ghz of Core 2 Duo's ...
with even my system a 3.35 Ghz, even a 7900 GT is sufficient, the CPU is always been my bottle neck.

but then i should not have problems with my pc, i think my pc should be able to run ffx smoothly, and i only get 20-35 fps max in game, goes around 140 when i pause it
i think 25 fps average should be more than enough to play the game normal, but tidus is a turtle, and changes in settings bilinear filtering, aa, etc doesnt make differences

u are right ... i think there must be a problem with your setting. please check again.
in ffx i never had any fps below 45 fps (maybe there is, very little though) and mostly got 60-85 fps (bilinear off aa on most of the time).

Your problem with the FMVs is caused by Anti Aliasing. You must turn off AA during FMVs, it can be toggled during game-play using the F6 key.

As for your speed, I think it's pretty good considering you haven't overclocked your CPU. Osakasan's E6300 has been extremely overclocked according to his last post, so I would not compare your system with his.

One thing that may affect your speed is a setting in your computer BIOS (*not* the PCSX2 BIOS) called Virtualization. If you see this setting in your computer BIOS you should disable it.

Yeah your CPU can be overclocked >3GB easily and you will get better FPS. But I think even in stock speed E6600 should do better than that. I'm thinking maybe cuz your video card compatibility with PCSX2?

Hi everyone! Guys, I need your help! I have a problem with FFX! When I run it with GSdx9 v0.9.0 everything seems to be ok 'till video starts! On the other side, when I try to use ZeroGS v0.96.0 videos r playing rather well, but there is such a mass of textures during the game, that I can't separate sky from ground! Sometimes there is no ground at all and all NPC r calmly flying in the air!

Do you have an international version of FFX? If so, what version?

Try pressing F9 while in game to enable/disable the FFX Hack setting.

Hey zaboomafoo, do you have the latest driver for your G80? And if your driver is the latest version, it could be that the driver isn't fully mature yet and could possibly be the problem...

Sometime new product take awhile before the driver is fully optimized/matured. Since you're the only one in here who have a 8800GTX and nobody else has one yet...Why don't you try another graphic card and see what up.

thanks everyone, i tried turning virtualization off, but nothing happened, i have the last driver for my video card, and i would be please to try another graphic card, but i dont have another one

since we talked about overclockig, what speed do you advise me to overclock my 6600, keep in mind that i have the stock intel cooler fan, i dont have water cooling sys

ok the fmv problem was indeed aa, now i can see them but they look and sound pretty choppy, altough they get 32 fps average, i can live with that, now help me with turtle tidus, in some parts i get 47 fps in game (i know i should get more) but he still run very slow!

im currently in 32bits xp, im going to change to the x64 version, format, and see what happen, my last hope, the last stand against ps2 emulation lol
