How do I return to the menu?

This might be a silly question, but when I'm playing games, how do I return to the menu? The only thing that happens when I push escape is that the emulator quits but still tries to read my CD with skipping sound. The next time I start the emulator, it thinks I have two of the same program running and can't load my CD. I've checked the help files and FAQs but could find the answer. I've also tried hitting all the keys, but non seem to bring up the menu. What should I do? Thanks.

Pressing ESC brings you to "menu", if you want to continue playing the game then just press Run->Continue.

Thanks for the quick response. My problem is that when I hit escape, the menu doesn't come back up. The sound just skips, but I don't get the menu screen. I just exit back to windows with skipping sound. When I try to shut off the computer, it tells me this program is still running, but I have no way of accessing it. Am I doing something dumb here? Thanks again for helping me.

Try using an ISO.

Wow, fast responses that are not telling me how dumb I am. This is a great board! I just tried running the emu using a ISO file and when I push excape everthing goes as normal. But when running a CD, I do not go back to the menu.

EDIT - Hmmm....It seems to be working now. I'm really sorry for taking everybody's time. Maybe I just was missing it or something. I don't know. I AM happy that it's working okay. Thanks again for being patient with me. If I have any other issues, I know that I can get some good responses here.
