Metal Gear Solid - FMV problems
Hi! I searched the forum to see if anyone else was having this problem that I was. When playing Metal Gear Solid, the game itself runs nearly perfect (minus the occasional studdering that many people are getting). However, when an FMV is playing (like the ending, or the clips throughout the game), the FMV plays at 2x speed and everyone sounds like chipmunks! But then when the game returns, it runs perfectly again. I've attached a photo of my Video and Audio settings. My hardware is:
Again, the game itself runs nearly perfect... I'm running the game disc via CD-ROM. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! |

What are those game fixes you enabled? Does it give you the same problem with the Eternal sound plugin? |

The special fix is the 0x0080 Use PC FPS Calculation. I tried using the Eternal SPU and the SPU Lite with the following settings (see attachment), however whenever the audio plays, it skips and stutters during the longer codec conversations moreso than with P.E.Op.S. DSound Audio Driver 1.9 (almost perfect with this one for me). I tried adjusting the buffer but no good here... It's not too big a deal, since there aren't too many FMVs in the game. But thank you for your help! |

Uncheck the PC FPS cals, we need the console's emulated one. its only for some rare games.

Yes, I used husypushy's config to set mine up for the most part, thats how I found out about the PC FPS Cals. I'll try to uncheck it though, just to see what happens.

The FMV's will be running fine then, though there will be slowdowns in the game...
