A non-shaky cam of the PS3s UI
Can anyone say PSP? Good view of the UI tho... http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...81689092&hl=en I'm in no way a Xbox fanboy, but the X360 UI makes this look like crap. UIs from 5" screens should not be used on 50" TV.

I believe thats the DEV kit UI. The retail UI looks quite better. With a black background and a cool animation on the background. Also its missing the Network tab that is the most important i believe. Can't wait until they reveal that part. Eitherway, i'll wait untill i see the final version before deciding wich one's better.

I like the XMB. It keeps everything tidy. Plus: I noticed the lack of pictures/movies/music options amongst other things. Seems like the non-retail gui as Metamurphy put it. |

Yah, It needs some 3D animation and stuff, and cool swirly logos XD Be cool if you can customise the menus skins/BGM ^^ I'm not getting one until they stop feeding the PS3 "bulk up formula" |

oh you mean the UI, not the PS3 design Do you think Sony deliberatly make playstations big so they can release slimlines later? ... lol "that's the only visulisation we have" "yah, the internets a bit slow" Apparently the PS4 won't play actual CDs! HDD...is not compact. And yes. 2 editions sell better than one. Remember the white PSP. To renew interest for people wanting something looking "new"... |

You can easily see the PS4 having only one wire, for power. And it just being a thin sleek slab with no ports or drives what so ever. Then have HD images and 7.1(or more?) channel audio get sent to your TV wirelessly. Have your saves/music on a compact 500GB wireless memory stick (maybe) And all your games (or "serials") will flick through your 3Gbit wireless connection ![]() ....scary |

Like I said, it's still like the PSP UI. Good on a <5" screen, bad on big tvs... hell, it'd look bad on the 13" TV in my room. Mabey... http://novaspivack.typepad.com/nova_..._wireless.html Wireless power would be amazing.

Exactally, Microsoft has offically pwned Sony in the UI area..... (Sony beat M$ in others.. but so far the PS3 is slowly looking less and less appealing..) ![]() -OR- ![]() Hmmm.....

How about waiting untill we see the final version before throwing stones?... We already know the PS3 will have a player profile, ranking, chat, voice chat and video chat, etc... yet you don't see any of those on those videos. There's still alot of stuff missing like this: ![]() So don't jump the gun just yet. Oh and if we're talking about just the way it "looks". I'll choose the PS3 UI everyday.

Murphy, that is a ****ing website. Look at that ****. ZOMG 1337 DESIGN. Yay for a $600 PSP menu!!!1 Seriously though, the PS1's interface was terrible, and the PS2's is nothing to write home about (but, that was a time where simple menus were the norm, so that's not necessarily a bad thing). Sony has no track record for "good" menus, sans the PSP which is simple and effective for a portable. However, it is not suited for the PS3 IMO. On the other hand, Microsoft really nailed the 360's UI. If this video and the E3 stuff is any indication of the final interface Sony didn't give the menu the attention it deserves this generation, especially if they want their $600 paperweight to be "more than a console". Hopefully the shipping one will be more than a glorified PSP menu. I wonder what the Wii interface will be like?

Even the retail UI from E3 looks to plain. For the PSP its great, but for the PS3 it's way to plain. They need to spruce it up a bit. I just think Sony didn't put a lot of thinking into the UI and just said "Let's use the cross media bar, it'll work!".

Sorry, but I have to take a MUCH different view of this. Let's wait and see how it WORKS first. I would much rather have something that is not flashy AT ALL that works, rather than having flash, cute little animated buttons, but bugs all over the place. Not to say that the X360 is buggy...but still. Besides, how much do you EVER REALLY USE your gaming systems UI? Maybe to manage memory card saves and whatnot. Change your settings. Mainly just memory card stuff. I can't remember the last time I went into my PS2's UI for anything but memory card stuff. Less bloat, IMO. Besides, I already see two things that I liked. 1. The ability to download UI updates. 2. The ability to pull up the UI *WHILE IN-GAME*!!!! Sorry.....but as little as I will use the systems UI (if I can ever afford to buy one that is) I could care less what it LOOKS like. I just want it to do what it is supposed to do.
