Question Command Lines.

First of all, great site. I have fixed most of my problems browsing the forums. However I cant find anything relating to command lines in the search function of the forums. I have read the guide about command lines and all it says is that I need to run the ePSXe with the command line switches. Well this might be a bit noobish of my but how exacly do I 'run' command lines? Is there a console i have to go to, if so how do i pull it up? Thank you for your help, whoever responds

First of all: NO QUESTIONS ARE NOOBISH, EVERYONE HAS TO START FROM BASICS!
Now to the answer: It means that you should add an argument when executing the program:

If you are using Windows, the console is called "cmd" (Start > Run > "cmd"). "cd" to the right directory and type "epsxe160" (or whatever the name of your version of the program is) followed by "-switch" (where the "switch"-part is the name of the switch to use). For exaple, I always start the emulator with "epsxe160.exe -noauto". In this case "noauto is the switch".

You can also, to make it easier, create a shortcut to epsxe and add to its path (in the "Properties" menu) the switch you want to use. To start it with the desired switches, simply double-click the icon.

I hope this helped you: Ask again (in this thread!) if I was too unclear, or you need more help with this problem.

Wow thx Siiiiiii, I think i got the hang of it. Now, when you say add to its path; do u mean add to "target" or "start in" text boxes in the properties menu of the shortcut? Cuz I was a little confused about that one.

ugh, if the search function wasn't so crappy, i'd yell at you...

there you go....

control F for "command line" and it's down there. i'd copy/paste but there are a bunch of links.

well problem not solved. lol. I thought i had it down pat. WTF! I made a shortcut, went into proprties, changed the 'target' to "C:\Program Files\epsxe160\ePSXe.exe -nogui" and when i pressed apply it gave me the error msg "the C:\Program Files\epsxe160\ePSXe.exe -nogui specefied in the target box is not valid, make sure the path and the file name are corrent" I dont get it, do i need to change the actual exe file to "ePSXe.exe -nogui" to make it work or what?

since there are no spaces in that filename, you don't need quotation marks. try this:

C:\Program Files\epsxe160\ePSXe.exe -nogui

Try this: "C:\Program Files\epsxe160\ePSXe.exe" -nogui, it is working here, just tried it.
