ePSXe / Delta through mameWah
Hi guys. My problem is that I'm trying to run ePSXe in a cabinet setup, but I prefer to use the delta frontend for my setups. The problem arises from the fact that if I use delta as the emulator, as soon as I boot a rom, mameWah thinks that the emulator is finished because delta has done its job, and it tries to go back to mamewah. I cant for the life of me work out how to get around this, Ive tried batch files, tried using daemon tools for the emulator and having delta autoboot, to no avail. If anyone has any experience with this or knows some kind of workaround, I'd really appreciate it. |

Not much you can do about this I'm afraid, delta terminates immediately if you use the command line options. The only thing I can suggest is an extreme longshot: 1. load delta minimized on startup 2. run mamwah 3. try to load another instance of delta w/ the command line opts from mamewah Failing that you're probably outa luck

I found a solution, for anyone else interested in doing this You need to rename the ePSXe.exe to something else (e.g eSPXe_new), and put a dummy ePSXe.exe in the folder. The limitation is that this dummy needs to be a program that will reside in memory, and can be terminated from a command line. Then use delta to run the config, which will start the dummy process and change the epsxe config. Then run epsxe -nogui to autoload the game from the cd. After this, simply run a command to kill the process and return the epsxe config to normal. e.g Set up a batch file which does the following Mount Image in Daemon-Tools Run Delta -direct using the name of the config file run epsxe_new -nogui Kill process of dummy ePSXe EDIT: If you set Delta to Auto-run all your games and leave it in the system tray, you dont need the Delta -direct part as it will automatically start The frontend will not return until the dummy process is killed, and you can use all the custom configs you want. One thing to note is that this does not work with the ePSXe_old tag, you'll need to sort that out if required (simple batch IF loop would suffice). When choosing a dummy ePSXe, try to choose something small, which loads minimized and fast. use "kill /F /IM ePSXe.exe" to kill the process. Hope someone else finds this useful.
