PS2 on ePSXe

Can i run ps2 dvd games on ePSXe? Cuz it's my favourite emulator. if yes then, can it support the nvidia card (Geforce4 MX 440 SE), because it doesn't seem to have support of "pixel shadder" not even 1.0 or 2.0. Secondly, Can you help me as how to make ISO or BIN image of PS2 DVD. CDRWin doesn't seem to make BIN or ISO image of DVD. Its my first post, awaiting for your good response. best regards

Simple answer is no long answer is because epsxe is programmed to emulate only the PS1 system, it can't emulate the EE, Spu2, etc etc.

If you want a PS2 emulator, use PCSX2. Your video card is old, don't expect a good speed. And if you want to make an ISO, use Alcohol 120%, ISObuster or some similar program.

ePSXe can't play PS2 games because it's a PSX emulator. the Playstation can't play Playstation2 games.

there are PS2 emulators, but they are still in development, and your system can't handle it anyway.

Well thanks everybody, a little more help will be grateful. I have Alcohol120% and ISObuster now, can you please guide me through the process as how to make ISO image of DVD using these softwares. I tried but no success Secondly, suggest me a graphic card on which i could run PS2 games smoothly. How about GeForce FX 5200 Ultra or GeForce FX 5700 Ultra? Please suggest me affordable with best performance.

With Best Regards

Any Pixel Shader 2.0 graphic card will do the job, the cards you mentioned will work.

Here is the ISO making guide.

If you want to make an ISO of a PS2 (DVD) game just use DVD Decrypter. Works like magic.

Whast the sense in tearing someone to shreds over a simple question no matter how ridiculous it is? That doesn't accomplish anything by flaming them or calling them an idiot or noob or anything else to that effect.

Fykk ,your computer will play Ps1 games but not Ps2.
You cant expect Epsxe to play Ps2 games like you can't put a Ps2 game inside a Ps1 and expect it to work.
Your question was stupider than stupid.I suggest you document yourself before making such posts.
Read all the stickies and rules you can find here.
-----------
Right now there's no point in upgrading your Pc for Pcsx2 .Buy the real console ..best goddamn emulator

I thank you All for providing such a valuable help that I really needed. GOD Bless You All

Finally, ISOBuster helped me in making ISO Image of PS2 DVD, just right click on the top left most pane of ISOBuster and Extract DVD contents as ISO or TAO Image. Still No Success regarding making of ISO Image using Alcohol120% or converting .mdf Image to ISO Image. Well, the Knowledge of DVD Decrypter was worthy too. One Last Word, I hope to see ePSXe in developing compatibility with PS2 too. :-) Chao...

Well, tecnically the "pSX Emulator", wich is a PS1 emulator CAN boot the PS2 bios (and maybe boot some PS2 games), his question isn't stupid.

I don't think it would be impossible to play (well, boot) PS2 games on EPSXE if the creators wanted (I know that its not their focus though), so saying that his question is stupid is actually a stupid thing.

If the hardware psx won't play ps2 games, what makes you think a software emulator should or will? Think before you post "omfg i wish stuff works like this" nonsense.

Like I said, pSX CAN boot PS2 games!! It still can't play games, but every emulator has to start by only booting games.

Read before posting.

well any system CAN technically load any other systems data with the correct implementation and coding but If you code epsxe to load, boot, and run ps1 games it becomes a ps2 emulator. Anyhow someone should write a FAQ outlining common questions and why they will not work for various emulators. Like

q: why wont ps1 emulators run ps2 games
a: because they are two different systems. it's like trying to run a mac program in windows

q: can we put a ps2 bios into a ps1 emulator and make it work
a: no because they contain very different instructions.
